14. If I were an Iraqi,
I would write in Saddam as a protest to the American Occupation.

Seriously.

There cannot be a Free and Fair Election in Iraq as long as American Gunmen roam the streets.

18. What Election? Who's Running For The Iraqi National Assembly?
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 10:10 PM by Itsthetruth
The names of most candidates are not even listed on the ballots! And little or no information is being circulated on what any of the candidates stand for, even for those few who have their names on the so-called ballots!

Could anyone seriously say we had an election in the United States if "candidates" running for Congress did not have their names on the ballots and if not a single piece of literature was circulated indicating what the candidates (named and un-named) stand for?

I think this point needs to be raised here and on other boards over and over and over again.

19. Election Recounts In Iraq?
In a "close" Iraqi election how do you do a recount for candidates who are not identified by name on the ballots?

The odds are pretty good that a lot ballot stuffing will take place in southern Iraq and the Kurdish north. That will also help to inflated the figures on the number of people who actually vote for "anonymous".

My prediction:

Anonymous will win the election!

20. Heard a embed reporter say......
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 10:46 PM by Haymare22
....Everyone has left the big cities; the local police, any form of governing council folk, have all packed out. Many locals have split, the cities are full of only 'insurgents' and our soldiers.

Those leaving say they are too fearful of what will happen and see no point in remaining behind to 'vote'.

"Mission Accomplished". You bet.
