Bush's biggest sin is in exploiting American patriotism...IMO
To me the biggest obscenity is that Bush has exploited the idealistic patriotism of young Americans to fight his dirty, illegal war.....He has convinced these young people that they are fighting to save their country and every time I see the latest list of fatalities.... 20yrs. old .....22yrs. old....KIDS, who haven't even begun to live,.....I feel such anger!.....He comes on TV with his sanctimonious act, bleating about how the world is being made safe and "democracy is on the march!".....How dare he do this!.....And now he's again talking about getting the rest of the world to help make things right in Iraq.....I know that I don't want any young Canadians going there to be killed in this insane war and it sounds as if the European countries still feel the same way......It all looks pretty hopeless!.....Where will it all end?

5. No
There is no exploitation, you can't exploit people who want to be used. They are willing to sacrifice their children, so that they can look good to their friends and neighbors.

I'm glad my son is a convicted felon, at this point in time the military won't look at him twice.

6. I know.....When I see their parents on TV, broken-heartedly saying how
proud they are of their dead children, I want to yell "don't you realize the truth?"....But I suppose the only way these parents can accept what has happened to their children is to believe it was for worthy cause....

2. Yes, well,...his administration exploited the loyalty & trust,...
,...of the American people, using "patriotism/nationalism" and fear-mongering as their tool of manipulation. Very Goebbels-like.

4. How about exploiting Christianity for his evil purpose?
Today we have Business, Government, and the Military engaged in activites under the banner of patriotism which ultimately make them all more powerful. This is called fascism.

They have added Christianity to the mix which adds a religious, I accept everything on faith, I don't need any proof, and Gawd told me so mentality to the mix.

I call that a genuine NIGHTMARE !

9. Don't you think it's all a part of the same thing?
He's using every trick he has...And what get's me is that it seems to be just rolling off him like water off a duck....He seems completely unaffected by these deaths....He gets that whacky look on his face when he talks about their sacrifices as if he thinks it's all for a greater glory!....He is really insane, I believe.

11. I don't think religion an patriotism are the same, no.
I think the approach bush*Co takes to each is similar and I think the attempt to intertwine the two is waaaay scary.

12. That is a grave sin, but...
Sending the flower of our youth to kill 100K Iraqis and die so his pals can make a buck is a much graver one. It's murder most foul.

I can abide by jingoism and fake patriotism. That happens all the time. It's the wanton murder I can't abide by.

13. That is the worst sin
But don't forget that by stealing the election he destroyed
the hope and optimism of young people who thought they could change the world by voting. I fear he has created a generation of bitter cynics who will never trust anything again. That is heartbreaking to me and could possibly have worse long term effects.

14. He's patriotic the same way he's a christian
He uses an image of patriotism to perform acts that are anything but patriotic, and he uses an image of christianity to perform acts that are anything but christian.
