Dean's wife doesn't look like a first lady.
I think this is going to hurt him in the long run.

Although I think Dean's wife is a little easier on the eyes. With that said... just what the hell is a first lady supposed to look like?! This is crap.

28. Yes. How about Mamie Eisenhower.
Or Bess Truman for that matter, or Barbara Bush.

I think the other Dr. Dean is a perfect first lady for our times, one who has a profession that is important enough not to have drop just because she has to act as a hostess for her husband. Which brings me to, what exactly does Pickles do?

11. Thank goodness
Cuz I'm tired of the "First Lady" types. Let's have a president and first lady who aren't the typical Washington types.

Here's a radio interview with Mrs. Dean. She sounds as down to earth as she looks. Definitely not your polished politician's wife, but heck, Howard isn't polished either. That's one of his appealing qualities.

To not vote for someone based on what his wife looks like? I'm sure Dean has already written off those two or three votes.
John
FWIW, I think she looks a bit like Marilyn Quayle. Doesn't mean I wouldn't vote for Dean because of it. I mean, one of them married a doctor and, by most accounts, a good man. The other married Dan Quayle.

She is a career woman. A Dr. with patients who has maintained her practice throughout her husbands political career. They've also managed to raise kids. Sounds a lot like the rest of America.

I mean, really deep, like Stephen Hawking would experience the BSOD trying to wrap that logic around mere letters and words, because words are really insufficient in regards to describing how that works, did you come to this conclusion yourself? Oh my. You must be one terrifically smart human being, how did we ever fail to recognize this in the past?

Do you have any more brilliant observations? I'd love to hear what else you have tucked away in that vast chasm of knowledge between your ears..

Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 10:19 PM by SoCalDem
Most first ladies are going to be fifty-ish grandmotherly types..

A young president may have a wife in her 40's, but until we get a president of 42, with a wife 10 yrs younger, we are unlikely to ever have another glamorous first lady..

Most will be presentable, but not babes :)

We need to grow up , as a nation, and quit looking at the wrapping, instead of the gift :)

Are you saying that because she's a doctor instead of a lawyer (Sen. Clinton) she doesn't look like a first lady?
