Why wasn't the Bush shaved? - Observations after Bushs "party"
Some things on my mind after Bush's Parties.

Since the day, almost TWO YEARS AGO, when he declared "mission accomplished", things have rather deteriorated in Iraq.

U.S. military fatalities from hostile acts have risen from an average of about 17 per month just after President Bush declared an end to major combat operations on May 1, 2003, to an average of 71 per month.
The average number of U.S. soldiers wounded by hostile acts per month has spiraled from 142 to 708 during the same period.

Attacks on the U.S.-led coalition since November 2003, when statistics were first available, have risen from 735 a month to 2300 and more a month. A MONTH.And on Iraq's economy side? It looks just like the businesses Bush used to run (run, meaning "run" into the ground)

Electricity production has been below pre-war levels since October, with just 6.7 hours of power daily in Baghdad in early January, according to the State Department.

Iraq is pumping about 500,000 barrels a day fewer than its pre-war peak of 2.5 million barrels per day as a result of attacks, according to the State Department.

Are we doing much good in Iraq? Even staunch Bush supporters, and republicans in the senate are beginning to admit things look bad. Last time I checked, the majority of Americans now say invading Iraq was the wrong thing to do... by a widening margin. Who still supports George's vision of Iraq?

1. The majority of Americans say the war was the wrong thing to do
Yet they still voted for Shrub, thinking he was going help get us out of Iraq. I think as long as there is a Republican in the White House, we will still be in Iraq. :(

2. No offense...
To Kerry or anything, but the fact that Bush committed all these lies and acts, and his opponent COULDN'T defeat him says something about the 2 party system.

deregulation. Sen. Kerry was threatening to break them up. Sen. Kerry was threatening to enforce the anti-trust/anti-monopoly laws that are on the books.

Besides, Britain has a 3 party system (Labor, Tories, Liberal Democrats) and Blair isn't exactly a paragon of non-corruption. And the Tories are even more corrupt, they voted against many Labor backbenchers FOR Blair.

7. if only it was that simple...
a 'coup d'etat' is an illegal overthrow of the political authority in a given political entity or 'nation state' and that's what america has been going through. The coup was succesful because the mass media assisted the plotters, both ratting against the established government see monica lewisnsky, whitewater, impeachment 'wag the dog' gore invented internet, gore lost debates, gore was too wooden too stiff, a big joke etc, and ignoring any nasty facts about the plotters....911 exposed the mass media to the same retribution that bushinc itself would suffer if caught, thus the mass media is trapped helping bush 'destroy the country' (lol)
to get rid of the busheviks the US must let them write the exit scenerio...though a few losers (like rice or rumsvelt) might eventually be put down, in the name o justice etc

lying to start a war is a dismissable offense to some.

12. not at all, i pointed out that we shouldn't be so quick to blame Kerry
for not being able to do something that has never been pulled off.
Unseating an incumbent during wartime. No matter what the shrub said about it being over, he made it clear that a war was going on.
I see very few acknowledging these circumstances when they want to discuss the reasons for Kerry's failure.

9. But the war thing is so fuzzy...
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 07:50 PM by gatorboy
Who are we at war with really? Iraq?
They should've been suffocating us with chocolates and pedals by now . Are we really at war with Iraq? If that's the case then they really don't want us there, and they should just drop they whole election thing.

The War on Terrorism is worse. Who's to say when that is over. They can use that excuse for 20 more presidential terms.

I'd believe the wartime gimmick more if they could actually give me a specific enemy we're fighting and not some objective term like terrorism.

10. Exactly, he managed to scare 1/2 the poplulation into believing he needed
to be the one to finish things in Iraq, at the same time he also was able to claim it was all over. Fuzzy is right, but it worked.
The campaign was fear based, the country knew we were at war whatever Bush said, and he profited from it. They'll probably do it again in four years, because they obviously needed a frightened electorate to swing this.
I just think people give Kerry to hard of a time when it was hardly a cakewalk.

5. TERRA TERRA TERRA won and "John Kerry won't Keep You Safe" won
except for Ohio and Florida, where they stole it.

Although my ultimate goal is to get a team of bloggers / writers ;)

Most of my "rants" are Anti War / Anti Bush - seems like a logical place to catch interest. We write it, we host it, we get ppl to read it sorta thing.

WINK WINK NOD NOD NUDGE NUDGE '

I don't suppose anyones interested - We already generate traffic in the thousands, most of which come for the news / views I post every day... just something I've always wanted to kick off. Don't be scared by the site I run (haha) it's getting a serious makeover to shelter politics and opinion writing.
