Several Hundred Protest Bush Visit In Nashville Today
I just watched the local news and saw footage of the protest. The news relates that were several hundred in attendance. Many students there from Vanderbilt University, pro bush (organized by his handlers no doubt when they got wind of the protesters) Buzzard brains spoke at a middle school, gave a speech at the Loews Vanderbilt (big swanky hotel) had 600 present @ $2,000 per plate dinner, raised 1.2 million. In his speech he told his "guests" the "he inherited the recession from the previous administration" also said that he "passed two historic tax relief bills". Many vocal anti bush protesters very loud, but no problems, many campaigning for dem candidates and registering voters, others with anti-war signs. Democratic Party Chairman, Randy Button says, Tn has lost 38,000 jobs since bush* took office, says Tn will be key in the primaries as it will be earlier than usual this year(?) Protest lasted 3 hours. Way to go Nashville! Wish I could have been there, had to work, mopping floors and scrubbing toilets for supplemental income thanks to the bush economy.

Where'd you get these charts? They're great, and I'd love to see more such info.

8. actually I got it as a postcard
It is from the Buzzflash site:

http://www.buzzflash.com/AreYouBetterOff/

That web page has links to the primary sources, like the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which I would guess is a good source for more charts.

...we heckled his supporters as they left a $2000 a plate dinner at te Murat. We yelled 'was it worth $2000 a plate?..and 'how much did you tip your waiter?'- they tried to look composed..many were visibly affected by our comments....IPD's finest were giving us dirty looks..it was a blast!

15. Plaid Adder...
On Sept 10th I'm sending out your ballad of 911 to everyone on my email list with a note to pass it on on Sept 11th. I think it's very touching and says so much about what really went on that day. I haven't had a chance to compliment you on it til now - it's really well done and it moved me a lot. Thanks.

10. My local whore NBC affiliate in Knoxville
Had one sentence about the hundreds of anti-* protesters, and then devoted about a minute to talking about the 20 pro-* counter-protesters, complete with unabashedly sycophantic quotes like "Whether he is right or wrong, we support him because he's our president." :puke:

11. No offense to TN People but. . .
had you voted for your own son Gore you would not have lost 36,000 jobs. Nor would they need to protest. Just an observation. I didn't mean to be mean, but when you cut off your own nose you don't have much right to complain about having a flat face.

14. Please, we're not the ones who voted for *. You won't find those
people on Democratic Underground.

We worked really hard for Gore but * and friends scared lots of Tennesseans by saying that Gore would take away their guns. Also, there's a hard-core, religious fundamentalist, anti-intellectual streak in some East Tennesseans (can't speak for West of here because I haven't seen much of Nashville and Memphis).

Please don't beat us up about it.

Bush lied, and lied, and lied, and lied, and some voters believed him.

16. Low Blow!!!
Sorta typecasting, no

Like suggesting since Bush is the American President, then all Americans are hate-mongering war profiteers?

I applaud the People to get out and challenged their elected representatives and celebrate diversity through free expression like a democracy SHOULD be!!

Check your 'poll data' at the door, brother
