Democratic Debate Tomorrow - will Fox News cover it?
I find this a bit of a reach - The O'Reilly Factor is pre-empted for the Democratic Debates?

Anyone heard anything?

Thanks.

1. It's true
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 10:46 PM by khephra
Fox is showing a Democratic Debate tomorrow, because it's hosting the damn thing. I think Hume is MCing this one.

It's not a joke. I know it sounds like one, but it isn't.

3. Fair & Balanced
Surely Poppy Bush's former racquet ball partner Brit Hume is about as Fair & Balanced as it can get.

5. Brit Hume's phony chuckle at the end of the "news" every night
almost makes me retch and convulse, damn hes sickening.

Watch Faux and Shit Hume try to pound Dean and others with their "unpatriotic" opposition to the quagmire.

19. yes, guess the toe-sucker Dickie Morris
told them tonite that Hillary's getting her warchest going and is watching closely because she wants to win, and the Gore is also watching to see how the candidates are doing..Talked about the grassroots organizing big time for Dean and aren't really putting up $ as yet because the D's are still loyal Gore and Hillary supporters and are holding out until the nomination...Don't be surprised if Gore or Hillary's drafted to kick * as* back to TX!

4. Here's the proof
Democratic hopefuls take the debate to Fox
By Peter Johnson, USA TODAY

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., says some viewers might be surprised to find all nine Democratic presidential candidates debating for 90 minutes tonight (8 ET/5 PT) on Fox News Channel, of all outlets. Especially when the debate is co-sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus, which he chairs.

Blacks traditionally vote Democratic in presidential elections, and Fox is hardly a bastion of liberal ideology.

"To be frank, when most people think of Fox, they think of it being a conservative channel," Cummings says.

But when it comes to getting the word out — in this case that nine men want President Bush's job — Cummings wanted to get as big an audience as possible. Because Fox News is the No. 1-rated cable news channel, Cummings didn't hesitate to ask Fox chief Roger Ailes whether Fox News would co-sponsor the debate.

10. about as bad
as Matthews the other night calling Sharpton the only minority candidate.... Later, Cuoumo was on and said he was very impressed by Mosley Baun. Matthews didn't even realize at that point he screwed up so badly.. You'd think his producers would have caught it...

8. Why would the candidates agree on Hume, though?
I mean, don't they have any input on who is the moderator?

I'm trying to think of who in that camp would be adequate - Greta, maybe?

17. Fox will sell you a transcript for 30 pieces of silver
Just kidding.

We'll do a thread here. Maybe they will put it online, but I'm not too impressed with the Fox News website. Not anything like the comprehensive site CNN has.

21. Is this a trap ?
The "questioners" could make it very uncomfortable for some of the candidates. They may regret they ever accepted the invitation. It will be interesting to see if it is a "debate" or a "gotcha" by Brit Hume and others...

23. the media
is horrible at attempting to make the Dems "uncomfortable", it usually backfires and makes the "news person" look like the complete baffoon they are, especially on Fox.
