Poll question: would you risk your life to vote? |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 10:14 AM by G_j
if the danger and threats confronting Iraqis in the coming election existed in your town, would you being willing to take the personal risk to go and vote?
on edit: I know the analogy is a FAR stretch, perhaps I should have asked if you were an Iraqi, would you take the risk of voting? I added a another choice, confusing the poll even further..oh well, apologies to those who voted already.

but not at the request of an occupying army. I am thinking more in terms of, if the right-wing thugs of this country were threatening to kill Americans that would vote in a way, opposite of their own. Sure I would risk it. However, the Iraqis are being asked by an occupation army to vote, not for their freedom, but to save face for the occupation. That kind of vote, is not worth the risk!

3. I probably should have said |

if your country was occupied by an invading army AND on the verge of a possible civil war, AND the occupying army set up elections in which it was too dangerous for any of the candidates to campaign, AND therefore you know very little or nothing about their ideas or policies AND one significant faction was boycotting the election, AND your town was awash with leaflets saying if you vote you will be killed..... :-(

8. I agree it's not worth it here, or in Iraq with the Puppet Govt.... |
|
It will be the Bush PR Program that Iraqi's "sacrificed their lives to vote" when hundreds of them are blown up.
Bushies always find an excuse for their madness and the Press calls it "optimism." :puke:
