Lincon's Eerie Prophecy
"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."

-- Pres. Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864 (letter to Col. William F. Elkins)

4. bush was elected is real urban myth
Even if Abe never actually said that, he thought along those lines...he dealt constantly with liars and an easily panicked public...he knew how the system worked, and knew that good and evil will forever be in battle, with all the advantages onside of the evil.....

5. And if Snopes doesn't convince you. . .
search the Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln (http://www.hti.umich.edu/l/lincoln/); you'll find no such statement by the 16th President.

And if this doesn't convince, spend a year or three studying the life and times of Mr Lincoln. Once you've a firm grasp on the character and nature of the man, and an appreciation of the troubles he faced to wage war, you'll understand why Mr. Lincoln would never have made such a reckless statement in his lifetime. Unlike the present occupant of the White House, words meant something to Mr. Lincoln, and he never used them without considerable thought for the message they conveyed.

6. And do you have any other links other than Snope's??
Just because you post ONE link doesn't mean it's automatically an urban legend.

7. "However, this source
is fraudulent: Hertz was taken in by a forgery, and Shaw, a sloppy compiler, added the bogus letter to his encyclopedia (along with several other pieces of Lincoln apocrypha) without verifying its authenticity".

Says who? Unfortunately, for your case, plutocrats/capitalists and their friends have a history of ruthlessly mendacious propaganda, second to none. Despite their Pharisaic lip-service to Christ's express and emphatic teachings, nay, raging diatribes against their kind, their de facto contempt for him is ubiquitous and unequivocal. And will be paid for "without limit of time" - with interest. Just read Christ's own words.

8. I must have known more about Lincoln than I thought I knew.
I've been warning that, the concentration of wealth and power will endanger or kill democracy, for years!!!
