1. With all the cargo containers that DON'T get inspected coming into the US
someone could smuggle in an army

6. I have been wondering the same thing
With the tough guy talk of spreading 'freedom' why wouldn't some country pre-empt the pre-empters?

Is your name 'Greenbriar' from the West Virginia resort?

that unless and until we have open fair elections the UN will sanction us? Let China Be first then India.

5. I've often thought our troops are sitting ducks now.
Of course Iran s we could nuke them hard, and that may be the only thing stopping them from attacking Iraq. If this all plays out the way I think it might, where will the accountability lie?

12. How would China invade us?
Don't you think transporting a large army over the Pacific ocean might be a little hard.

14. Haha!!! Like the oceans kept Iraq safe from the US....
Like the Pacific kept Pearl Harbor safe from Japan 60 years ago.

Newsjock is completely correct about the economic situation regarding China. It will be a cinch to weaken this country whenever they care to. The've got the purse-strings now.

20. And how would they get close to the US without getting blasted?
They would be at the mercy of the US navy and airforce.

10. Why would anyone bother, they are all busy
working with each other solidifying deals which exclude the US.

We are doing a pretty good job of destroying ourselves. Why should they waste their time and resources.

11. I actually was gonna start a poll today
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 05:54 PM by PowerToThePeople
Asking what we would do if Europe/China/Other power pre-empted us to stop us from "liberating" any of them that current administration does not agree with.

1) Enlist and fight 'em.
2) Take up arms as citizen and fight(insurgent)
3) Surrender to invader and denounce current American power structure.
4) Take up arms against current government.
5) Other.

I would choose #3 since I believe us to be in the wrong but don't feel that ignorance by much of the public deserves a death sentence.

If the pre-empting power came in summer, I might have flowers to throw in their paths.

13. bush has already
set the precedent and legitimized pre-emptive strikes by invading Iraq.

If North Korea were to nuke us, it is their perfect right to do so at this point. They have better evidence against the US (our attack on Iraq) than we had against Iraq (fabricated claims of WMDs, and we DO have WMDs).

And of course we have legitimized torture, the Geneva Convention is now "quaint".

16. Have you forgotten that we have nukes?
Only groups with no geographical ties can afford to attack us. We can wipe entire nations off the map.

unleashing shock and awe on some of us "Merikans".

I worry that the techniques of fear and opression we are using abroad will be brought home to deal with demostic dissidents.

How is the hypothetical enemy going to get their planes and ships over here? We'll see them coming from hundreds of miles away. No, we will never be "Shocked and Awed".
