Spongebob is not acting alone. Tell fundies: Boycott ALL OF THESE!
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 06:58 PM by IanDB1
Spongebob is just a minor figure in the gayification of our school children.

Now, I am going to couch my statements in the language of intolerance for the benefit of the fundies.

The Gay Sponge isn't even the focal-point of the diversity training.

Who is the centerpiece?

Sesame Street!

That's right. Elmo is part of the Liberal Agenda!

Want proof?

Here's Elmo with left-wing pundit Jon Stewart

Also appearing on Sesame Street over the years:
Rosie O'Donnel (lesbian)
Harvey Fierstein (extremely gay)
Liberace (quintessentially gay)
Flip Wilson (cross-dresser)
Whoopie Goldberg (bisexual)
Ellen DeGeneres (lesbian)
Elton John (gay to the extreme)
Margaret Cho {militant lesbian feminist who compares being fisted to being a Muppet and has ties to GLAAD and MoveOn}

Anyway, here's a list of all the cartoons, companies and individuals the fundies need to boycott to "protect" our children from the evils of tolerance:

Over 100 Beloved Children's Characters Unite in Unprecedented Recording November 10, 2004

November 10, 2004, NEW YORK – Arthur, Barney, Bear, Big Bird, Clifford, JoJo and SpongeBob, as well as over 100 other beloved children's characters, have united to re-record the smash hit "We Are Family" in an unprecedented music video to

promote tolerance and diversity to America's children. The video, which demonstrates to children the importance of togetherness embodied in the word “family”, will be distributed to 61,000 public and private elementary schools in the United States on March 11, 2005, in celebration of the proposed National We Are Family Day.
<snip>
The video also features cameo appearances by Bill Cosby {adulterer and accused fondler} , Diana Ross and Whoopi Goldberg {race-mixing bisexual}. A PSA will also air in Crown Theatres across the nation.

Yes, James Dobson at Focus on {your} Family wants to protect our children from "tolerance."

Because, as Al Franken puts it, "To James Dobson, 'tolerance' is a code-word for 'anal sex'."

James Dobson says you have to "dig deeper" into the video because they are promoting anal sex by sneaking-in the back door of tolerance:

Yes, the fundies have some MAJOR boycotting to do!

So, if you are a fundie, PLEASE TELL YOUR CHILDREN TO BOYCOTT ALL OF THOSE!

And good luck not being murdered by your children in your sleep.

But, on the plus side, your kids can still watch:

Veggie Tales

And from James Dobson's Focus on {your} Family:

The Ribbits

Yes, Dobson has his own cartoon featuring frogs with erections:

The New Zoo Revue:

And of course, Davey and Goliath

(While not fundamentalist, Davey and Goliath are a Christian-produced show that often speaks of faith and God despite the subtle homo-erotic-beastiality undertones and the pagan "Maypole Dance" episode).

Yes, my fundie friends. Tell your children the only cartoons they can watch are Dave and Goliath, Veggie Tales, and The Ribbits.

And this is what you are in for:

YOUR JESUS IS POWERLESS BEFORE OF ELMO!!

Good luck, fundies. Now, remember, tell your children: No Spongebob. No Elmo. No Wiggles. No PBS. No Disney. No Nickelodeon. No muppets.

When they come for Spongebob, all the cartoon characters will stand beside him, and we will stand with them. When they come for Spongebob, we will all stand and say...

"I am Spongebob!"

"I am Spongebob!"

"I AM SPONGEBOB!!"

"I AM SPONGEBOB!!"

"I AM SPONGEBOB!!"

"I AM SPONGEBOB!!"

"I AM SPONGEBOB!!"

3. I have one thing to say in defense of Davey and Goliath
it is put out by the Methodist Church, not fundies, although fundies seem to have latched onto it.

Also, while hokey and old-fashioned, it did deal with helping the poor in some episodes.

The Methodist Church also condemned Chimpy McCokespoon's war, which, since that is ostensibly the church of which he is a member, should carry some weight with him. And of course, does not.

4. I'll edit and clarify. I like Davey and Goliath, too. Thanks for reminding

Thanks for reminding me.

I've actually un-blocked the religion channel a couple times so my daughter could watch it.

And I love their Mountain Dew commercials.

6. Oh, I cannot stand watching it.
I was forced to watch it circa 1969-1972 when I went to a religious fundamentalist school, which spent the time convincing me that I was going to hell because I was not saved. Fortuantely, I was pulled out and went to a real school after starting the umpteeth sentence with, "Jesus says..." to my mother, bringing to her attention that this was no mere private school but a breeding ground for religious whackoes.

It's just that I don't want to see decent, moderate X-tians lumped in with the pyschoes like James Dobson, even if their claymation characters are a little freaky.

13. Mr. Rogers' Funeral beseiged by Fred "God Hates Fags" Phelps

Pittsburgh bids farewell to Fred Rogers with moving public tribute

Fred Rogers would have loved it.

By Barbara Vancheri and Rob Owen, Post-Gazette Staff Writers

A group of about a half dozen members of an anti-gay organization gathered at the intersection of Penn Avenue and Sixth Street to protest what they called Rogers' failure to condemn homosexuality. The group, which included an 8-year-old girl, held signs expressing their hatred of gays and, while standing on a torn American flag, their hatred of America.

They were met by about 150 counter-demonstrators, members of gay rights and peace groups, who marched along the sidewalks and sang songs from Rogers' program while holding signs calling for love and tolerance. While there were some heated exchanges, there were no arrests either there or at three other sites -- the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the University of Pittsburgh and Chatham College.

The anti-gay group, members of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas, has a history of picketing at funerals of gays and those they accuse of being supportive of gays. It is led by Fred Phelps, a self-proclaimed minister and disbarred attorney. He was not present at the demonstration yesterday.
