Fox News and MSNBC are using the same shot of a heavily guarded area where the whole press core seems to be focusing on an Iraqi man in a white flowing garb voting....

close-in camera....while leaving out the explosions in the background...
and all the Iraqis in the pool shots will speak FLUENT ENGLISH, all will PRAISE BUSH*...and dance in the polling places (for pay)....
ADDED PLUS for American Viewers: a 'local' Iraqi, in beautiful flowing white robes (just back from the dry-cleaners in the Green Zone)...gives us that 'white knight' feeling of bravery and democracy and FREEDOM....

8. You gotta love FAUX. They show an empty polling center and say |
|
Iraqis are "pouring in." I think that people will wait until later in the day to see how it's going.

Don't all the claims and plattitudes of the invasion seem far in the past now? You know...all those people meeting our troops with flowers? Or how about that great handover to Alawi last year. Remember how momentous that was? Or how the capture of Saddam or the killing of Uday and Qusay was a big turning point.
This "election" is supposed to be one in a series. In 6 months, there's supposed to be a "constitution" (coughbullshitcough) and then another election for President and local representatives. Anyone wanna take bets we don't make all three here?
No matter how this regime tries to downplay what's going on, the "insurgents" (some would call them patriots) haven't gone away and are getting stronger. The resentment in that country continues to build and any thing we try to "build" is going to be destroyed the second we cut bait out of that country.
We are living some of the darkest moments of this country's history. Hopefully from the ashes, we'll be able to salvage something someday.

13. And it only took 1400+ American soldiers lives, and $200 Billion |

of our tax dollars.
In return I hope the Iraqis will DEMAND a complete investigation by the US into who gave the Congress and President the false information, then put them on trial, and execute them.
