Faux News: "This day as important as the falling of the Berlin Wall"
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 11:48 PM by Bluebear
Referring to the Iraqi election, one of their commentators just now (counting a whole lotta chickens before they hatch) proclaimed this day as important as the Berlin Wall falling!

9. Huh?
The Iraqi elections? Geez. They're so desparate to make something out of it that they're losing what little creditability they have.

5. it's pretty sad they just cut to one of the polling locations
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 11:48 PM by TheWebHead
and the poll workers were shifting the flower pots in an empty room. Then a later shot showed nobody in the room at all.

7. Premature, but hey
At least they're fair and balanced.

BTW, I don't have cable, but I watch clips of the Daily Show on the Comedy Central website, and there's one now which shows a clip from Bush last press conference, and there's this reporter asking him a question about the economy, and he inserts the most blatant editorializing into the question, talking about Bush's critics as people who are divorced from reality or something. Does anybody know the story behind that?

See, if I ever get cable again, I think my head will explode.

19. Soliders talking point cards
I read a couple of weeks ago that soliders have been issued their own "talking point cards" when dealing with the media. They cannot ad lib.

15. 1 hour into the elections
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 12:03 AM by Oreo
and FUX is already saying the elections are a success because there hasn't been any violence.

Some guy on CNN was talking about this place will have high turnout and that place will be light and you shouldn't expect a lot of people to be out at 7:00am.... yada yada yada

More surreal stuff from what some call the news media. Once again... the bizarro world has managed to surprise me by the media's utter incompetence.

Ahhh... Rita Crosby now saying the next hour is critical in determining the success of the elections. I swear a nuke could go off and they'd successfully downplay it.

Grrrrr

17. And did they stick a
Fox fact on the bottom of the screen like this?

Fox Fact: The Berlin wall was brought down by President Reagan over the objection of Democrats.

I never watch this crap but it was on the other day when I was in the gym and it is unbelievable what is on there. It starts to make sense that people are so divorced from reality when you consider they are getting their news from here.

18. What Else Can They Say???
This regime, that network and it's followers are so conflicted by lies and distortions and revised history, they couldn't know or tell the truth...or, even worse, face reality.

Fortunately, I've been watching a lot of CBC, BBC and other international coverage and it's a stark comparison to the propaganda people are being fed here. They don't mix their feelings as to what a sham it is to have an "election" in the midst of a civil war where the rules and election are controlled by an occupying army.

These days, this regime is waging a full-scale media war on the world...doing the only thing it knows how to do...divide and confuse. And Faux is the biggest cheerleader.
