Before Sept 11, 2001..(remembering how it was)
This photographer just posted a whole gallery of his photos from the WTC.. Some are really spectacular.. Just thought I'd share my "find" for the New Yorkers here

1. It's difficult to look at those photos

The skyline will never look the same. :(

I was just reading the 9/11 timeline on Thompson's site (http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/timeline.jsp?timeline=complete_911_timeline&timeperiod=1:00am%20Sept%2011%202001)

It's a very comprehensive (and disturbing) account of all the events that lead to that day and of the day's events itself...and all the stories there are from major news outlets so it can't be considered a "kooky conspiracy theory" site.

3. Two weeks before 9-11
I flew to NYC to attend my grandmother's funeral.

The plane flew up the east coast and has we neared the city, the first thing I saw out the window was the Statue of Liberty. It was a gorgeous evening, the sea was calm and the sun was just starting to go down.

Then I saw the WTC gleaming in the evening light. I had never seen them look so beautiful before and the view from the plane was incredible. I will never forget the way they looked that evening. Little did I know, that two weeks later those towers would be gone. I haven't been able to get on a plane since.
