American Enterprise Institute--They're everywhere.
This morning on Washington Journal and most mornings for that matter. They are on all the journal type shows. The Center for American Progress or whatever corresponding entity we have needs to get out there more.

2. Not only that, but.......
1. All the callers are freepers. Why aren't "we" calling in to challenge? Are the freepers are either organized or more dedicated than we?

2. The host read Ollie North's Washington Times op-ed and conveniently skipped over the descriptive terms used for Kennedy and Byrd ("swimmer" and "klansman", respectively) - see my post in op ed.

5. C-SPAN still treats the Moonie Times
as a legitimate newspaper; worthy of discussion? Interesting...

3. Thanks for posting. It's an important point people need to know.
There are also people like Bill Schneider of CNN who the network attempts to to pass off as being unbiased, however he is also a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

4. For every lie and misrepresentation these people put out there,
our groups and leaders should be calling in and demanding rebuttal time. That may even mean some of these people calling in to Washington Journal to rebut if they can't get invited as guests. I don't understand why they aren't demanding time.

7. Your absolutely right. We have to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 08:50 AM by shance
It's a very important regulation that works to level the playing field and is a significant buffer against the privatization mongers who, are giving us quality shows like reality TV, Kobe Bryant, Nip and Tuck, the Swan, OJ, Scott Pederson, Sponge Bob scandals, and we could just go on and on and on.......

8. In the absence of a Fairness Doctrine in writing, we need a
concerted effort to create a defacto Fairness Doctrine by demanding rebuttal time. There needs to be a media coordination mechanism (DNC?, legislators?, I don't know where) to be able to tell folks who are official spokespersons/go-to person for the party AND who have expertise in a specific area to hit the ground running. You betcha that Washington Journal would take a call from a Congressman or Senator who calls in on a line. Without hesitation. In the meantime, we need to do our part too.

10. Great point. Our efforts can help instigate more pressure and awareness
for the Fairness Doctrine.

There are quite a few organizations doing something of course to further this along. I have also thought that protesting in front of the networks buildings long term could be some much needed publicity with signs and people actively showing their displeasure. For a media outlet to be protested, thats pretty embarassing.

6. C-SPAN loves these guys.
They're featured at least twice a week. But I've never heard anybody speak up about that on Washington Journal.
