Hillary, Daschle Helped Bankroll Dem Radio Hosts
Please link to orginial if this is a dupe.

While the media continue their quest to "expose" conservative pundits on the Bush administration payroll, reporters don't seem to have any qualms about the fact that the nation's top elected Democrats helped bankroll liberal commentators on Air America and North Dakota talker Ed Schultz.

Unlike the Armstrong Williams case, there's been no outrage over the fact that Sens. Hillary Clinton, Tom Daschle and Debbie Stabenow lined up $1.8 million in funding for Democracy Radio, which underwrote Mr. Schultz's show.

According to the Washington Post, Democracy Radio is "a non-profit organization" run by Stabenow's husband, Tom Athans, "with a board composed of three Clinton administration veterans."

...
One big difference from the Williams case: Schultz's media friends aren't raising any ethical questions about whether his show's content has been bought and paid for.

7. This Scandal Must Be Really Digging At Them
Like a sword of Damaclese hanging over their heads...it's the typical diversion game. Unfortunately, too many Democrats play into it or get distracted by it and the main issue fades away.

I'm glad Hillary and any INDIVIDUAL to supports a Progressive cause...be it with money or elbow grease. That's what democracy is about, not a sham made-for-TV dog & pony show we're seeing in Iraq.

Let's make these assholes a deal. We'll gladly disclose our financial and political connections if they do the same. I can hear the crickets chirping already.

9. Yep
Ed defended himself on this pretty well on the O'Rilley show a couple weeks ago. This is a sign that they see AA/Jones as a threat in the media airwaves. So let the distortions begin.

17. Evidently,it's enough to print a headline like this and leave out the
difference between the practices while completely leaving out that the left is just copying what their conservative foundations and pacs did to establish 24/7 conservative bluster. The president called Limbaugh a "national treasure" and thereby endorsed partisan media so they really have nothing to complain about.

19. Not using tax dollars either
This is a nonstory, just like the Dean campaign paying bloggers story. Fortunately, that one died a quick death.

6. LOL Newsmax has real trouble understanding the difference...
between taxpayers money being used as payola for propaganda and individuals' donations to support a private enterprise. I do find it very interesting they are pedalling as fast as they can to try and marginalize the facts. It means that the bush admin is very concerned about this, imo.

11. It wasn't our tax dollars C&D were spending.
By the way, Bill Moyers, on the PBS program "Now," revealed months ago that the administration was spending taxpayer dollars on ideologically aligned backers. Specifically, the Education Department has paid organizations like Bill Bennett's (I forget what it's called) to promote administration-aligned policies.

And yet the punditocracy is not up in arms, or at least does not appear to be alarmed.

that is where the breaking the law part comes in. This is what makes *'s propaganda machine an impeachable offense.

21.  Air America presents themselves as partisan- not as objective...
That is the difference- people are under the assumption that TV news is somewhat "balanced" and not like Rush or Air America.

Speaking of underwriting-I wonder what Republican donors run TV stations & RW radio?
