I BETCHA this sham of an "election" will be... |
|
Best case: irrelevant
Most likely: lead to an increase in the insurgency
While some people say :D that's pessimistic or "wanting Iraqis to fail", I reject both absolutely; it's just common sense. The insurgency in Iraq is not connected to any "election", so no "election" is going to stop the insurgency.
As the vast majority of actual ME experts opine the above, and have been correct every step of the way so far, I'm going to stick with them on this, too.
I hope it won't take too long for the majority of Americans to realize this; the longer it takes, the more troops and Iraqis are going to die for bush's pile of bullshit.

How would that be a "best case"?

2. Best case sometimes means only losing 3 of your 4 limbs. |

In this sham election, many ME experts believe "best case" will be the election being irrelevant.
As in that's the best we can hope for.

The "elections" will be meaningless.
The only way this could lead to a gain in the resistance is if Iraqis do not see any change (which they will not).
