Bush has just been rebooted, y'all |
|
The punditry is positively gushing.
Even remotely legitmate Bush-delivered elections in Iraq are terrible news for the United States--for they give enormous political capital to the most corrupt and dangerous regime that has ever held power in this country.

2. So, business as usual then |
|
The media has been whoring for Bush for about 5 years, why would they stop now? Seriously, IMO it's not worth the effort hoping the media will come around. They are all either on the WH payroll or BushCo's anthrax warning list.

When the religious Sunni discover that they have no power, they might respond with a little violence.

The corporate media whores will spin everything in favor of the weed and his folks.
This is not a "true election" - this is just another step in their puppet government.
The area is so unstable - god, how I wish we would pull our troops NOW.

11. History Is Still Grinding Away |
|
Actually, I'm not about to wring my hands about the Iraqi elections. If a lot of would-be voters defy the Baathists and Zarqawi's thugs, fine. I'd like to see Iraq once again become a civil society.
Having said that, does anyone except the most purblind Bushista or Freeperstani really think that the average Iraqi is truly grateful for the US invasion and subsequent occupation, especially after how ghastly and botched Gee Dubya's occupation was as compared to, say, what the Allies did in Germany in 1945 or MacArthur did in Japan?
I don't. I suspect that the average Iraqi is considerably less than "grateful" and will show their displeasure in subsequent elections when they elect anti-American candidates.
I believe that history will record that before Generalissimo Gee Dubya's 2003 intervention, Iraq was governed by a hostile anti-American dictatorship. After this and subsequent elections, history will show that Iraq was governed by an elected, hostile, anti-American government whose anti-American and anti-Israeli policies represent those held by the Iraqi electorate.

16. Considering we did not go to war for Democracy |
|
but for WMDS, for mushroom clouds, for imminent threat, for 9-11(they alluded to)etc and now we are supposed to consider it a sucess because we helped keep these people suppressed for so many years and the press has help to dictate that this was the actual reason for the war. What is wrong with the American people, are we actually this stupid, how fucking foolish we look to the rest of the world. History is repeating itself and nobody wants to see it. Put the obvious in front of everyone's face and they will not believe it. This president wants democracy and the right and freedom to vote so much he actually did not go to court to stop an actual ballot count against Gore, no we just imagined that. What a bunch of stupid, fucking whores, I am so disgusted again today I can not believe this is the country I live in. I'm watching it go down the drain and all these stupid ass fundies are there helping it. I hope the haves realize that since they are not the have mores their days are numbered. Can't wait to see it. All this crap about how many years that it has been since a "free election" and not one mention of how many years we were complicit. What a bunch of fucking morons. We get what we deserve, and unfortunately we will pay with our childrens lives to pay the debt.

As far as the impact of these elections go-either Bush's plan will work, or it will not- its all up to him.
