But hey, the U.S. 'security' worked as planned. "Only" 40 or so killed.

Not a bad start for a 'new' military dictatorship. No matter that most of the Iraqis who are opposed to our occupation refused to participate.

Freedom! Democracy!

Pfftt!!!

Corporal Josh McMichen, a member the U.S. marines, posts an election poster in Al Anbar province west of Iraq on January 29, 2005.

1. I'm surprised they don't have a parade in Washington
right now. They can have a fireworks display, like Disneyland Magic at Night. Lots and lots of beautiful colors, and big sounds.

They can have floats going down Washington Avenue. There will be a "Freedom Float", with the new Iraqi flag, and a few flag-waving patriots standing up on the float.

They can have a Mullah Float, showing Al-Sadr, Al-Sistani, and many other revered holy men. There will also be an Oil Float, showing a miniature oil well, with a little bit of black oil pouring out to give a realistic rendition.

After all, that's why we went there.

They can even have an "Iraq Day", on Jan. 30. Every year, it will be a National Holiday, postal workers get to take the day off. Lovely speeches will be heard in public squares all over the country.

We'll add another star to the Flag. It will be #51, the State of Iraq. We'll need to redo our flags, but what the hell. We've paid for that country by now. It cost us $320 billion, so I say You Break it, you buy it.
