2. What's wrong with this picture?
I see these two items:

Social Security $9.1 Billion
Defense $401.7 billion

We want to trim a few billion dollars. And we need to take them from SS?

18. This was the exchange this morning with Bremer on the Today Show

Bremer was on talking about how great a job he did and how great we are doing training Iraqis. Katie said (close quote)~"Oh and I can't let you go without asking about another little matter there seems to be $9 Billion missing from the Iraqi Treasury how do you respond to that?"
Bremer:"Well we were in the middle of a WAR we didn't have time to set Western accounting measures.....the commanders on the ground told me that these funds needed to be spent to rebuild, you realize it was an economy much like our own Great Depression, so I instructed be released as requested and I did establish an inspector general in every ministry (didn't find anything)..."

Katie:"Okay thank you"

8. And what's happened to the oil revenue?
Rough math:

$50/barrell x 2,000,000 barrels/day x 660 days of war = $66 billion

17. Is THAT all? That's couch change at the Pentagon.
Have the GS-1 house maintainance specialist rifle behind the cushions in the D-ring lounge. Shoot, a fellow could find that much inside a wallet left behind in the latrine there. Who knows what kind of money Rummy's run off with, let alone the rest of the BFEE.

19. With all this money missing....
maybe someone should be watching for money to mysteriously TURN UP somewhere.

Because this kind of money is hard to fritter away playing video games at the arcade.

Someone's going to be putting in a new pool. Someone's going to be dressing awfully nice.
