06 elections
so do we have ANY chance at all of making gains in the house or senate in 06? Or are we likely to lose more ground? If we can pick off any GOP senators who are they and why do you think they are vulnerable? Is Senator Dayton a goner?

2. You're talkin' about Dayton's defeat to the wrong person. ;)
(I'm already a volunteer for his campaign.) We need ALL the help we can get, but we made huge gains in Minnesota in this past election. I think we can do it.

Also, what about governors? I know that Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) is up for reelection. He really needs to go down, and soon, or he might get some crazy idea that he has a mandate to run for president.

5. Well
I love Dayton and will definately be sending some money his way. I have some Dems that will need major help in my home state too. Granholm and Stabenow ar eup for re-election here in Michigan and I think they will both have a tough fight. I am hoping that we can at least pick up a couple of house and senate seats. Could we take the second Senate seat in Nevada? Can we take out Santorum or Talent? We also have to defend Byrd's seat because I doubt he will run again.

6. Pawlenty is done.
Talk about a flip flopper. There is so much negative on his history that the fight against him provides PAWLENTY of fodder. T-Paw is done, stick a fork in him.

3. Mark Dayton is stronger than ever here in Minnesota.
A true patriot! Plenty of letters to the local papers praising this historically significant man. If there were more Democratic Senators like him, they would force Repugs to bring accountability back. I believe the Republicans are going to be in trouble in 2006, because people like me are raising their voices more and more.

4. Thanks for Bringing It Up
I don't want to talk about the '08 Presidential run.

2006 is upon us and we must win it.

8. Santorum, Talent, Tennessse open seat can all be had....
Right now, there are three seats that we have a good shot at taking. Santorum should be #1 on our target list as his popularity in Pennsylvania is being eroded by his bigotry and scandals. Talent can be beaten with a good candidate (such as AG Jay Nixon). And since Frist is retiring (or moving up), there will be an open seat reace, which we definitely have a shot at taking.

There could also be more GOP senators retiring in '06. Kyl in Arizona could go, Hutchison in Texas, even Lott in Mississippi. Remember, our two senate seats we won last November came from retiring Repugs. So (without taking into consideration Diebold), I'd say that our Senate chances may not be that bleak if we can field some quality candidates.

9. Might be able to pick off Santorium...
If Rendell can get Philly to turn out like he did in 2002 and 2004 we might have a shot. But most of PA is Jesus Country, so it's going to be really tough.

13. I think Senator Dayton will be just fine
That's not saying much if Minnesota imports some voting machines from Ohio or Florida, though.
