Judith Miller on Hardball tonight....slip of the the tongue?
If this has already been discussed, 1,000 pardons:

Anyone catch Hardball with Fineman, someone else, and Judith Miller? Miller (NYT) said her sources told her that the admin had actually been expecting a large turnout today, publicly lowered their expectations, making the actual turnout seem spectacular, AND that they had made overtures to Chalibi (sp?) to take the "Minister of the Interior" position. Tweety almost went ballistic...what? what? "Do you mean to say that after a free, democratic election, the United States will be in a position to choose Iraq's cabinet ministers?? Miller went on to talk about the making-up of bushco and Chalibi. The faces Tweety was making was priceless. He and Fineman almost burst out laughing at the absolute farcical nature of the whole election.

An election was held. Will the Iraqi's have any say-so over governing their country? No. A farce was held for PR purposes.

8. Matthews also said TWICE
"Do you mean to say that the man who STARTED THIS WAR will end up winning it?" (I guess he meant, "ending up controlling the country?") He seemed most outraged about the fact that the US could offer cabinet positions when Iraqis just risked death to gain control over their own government operations.

Hmmm, Hardball is now coming on again...after Olbermann...will it be a repeat of the earlier show? I don't know, but try to watch it, and listen carefully to the Judith Miller statement

15. Judy should know...she was his "Stovepiple" for information for years!
That Matthews had her on was significant. He knew WHO to book about the Fake Iraqi Elections. It's Chalabi's and Allawi's Country to run...with Negroponte as the "Shadow." We all knew this...the Iraqi Elections are DisneyWorld...Hollywood.. They were held to keep the "Average American" tuned to see where their tax dollars were going. That all is good for Freedom and Democracy. What the hell to do most folks know about Judith Miller and Chalabi? After all...Rush tells them the NYT's is LIBERAL...
:D

14. Tweety wonders if Bush is going to "lower" expectations again...
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 09:52 PM by Gloria
because "all politics is local" so if this is a big success, then American will want the troops brought home.

Fineman says that we really don't know if they knew the numbers, that the WH is "relieved" and now they will have to lower expectations and also go to Congress for the $$$$ with the spin that "we have to help the Iraqi people, can't let them down."

Tweety asked Judy what the headline in the NYT would be..."10million vote or 30 killed) and she says it will be the vote. How it's a big success, but there's a long road. Maybe Zarqawi will do something to deflect from today....She's on vacation in Florida, BTW

I had to turn it off. She sickens me
