AOL Users: Finding the image of ballot counting by candle light ironic? |
|
On the welcome screen for AOL, I get a couple of things and one of them is a picture of an Iraqi counting ballots for the election by candle light. Now some people might see this and think, "How quaint!" or, "How heroic!". Myself, I think how pathetic. The caption says something about a power grid being cut. Well you know what, we probably were the ones that cut the grid a couple of months ago or even a couple of years ago and never did anything to fix the damn system. Winning the hearts and mind indeed. Wouldn't you want to make sure that the counting was going on in the most secure, most well-lit place possible? People could sneak in the shadows, people could miscount something because it's not light enough. This is all just madness.
