and doing it with gusto. The Shia and Kurds seem to be rejoicing about kicking their asses at the election box, since they were somehow unable to ever do it by force in spite of their overwhelming numbers.

The plan is to have a pro-Shiite government that will sponsor the state run police I.E. "Shiite Death Squads" we've been training. Here's a guess. What ever new constitution that is written up will not include freedom of religion. Of course if this government lasts 20 years before turning into state run dictatorship like almost every other attempt at democracy in the middle east it will be a shock to all. But then Americans don't really care do we? Does any American really want to promote freedom around the world? The goal for average American is to say hooray the elections are a success now lets get out of here Scooby!

if a group of heavily armed men, in this case the US occupying soldiers, 'advises' you to go to the ballot box on election day, you had probably better go do it.
