Media cheers nation building and an illegal war
Edited on Mon Jan-31-05 06:41 PM by deacon
no mention of no WMD.

This is what we've come to? Obviously all cable news is on the white house payroll.

And bush plans to take a bow for this in the SOTU? This is disgusting. He was WRONG for going in there in the first place and this bogus election doesn't change a thing no matter what the paid off media bellows.

3. It's just amazing how the media is covering the administrations ass
They ignore the whole picture and are trying to make the best of it--but that isn't their job. Their job is to attempt to get at the truth.

5. They'll do it Wednesday too
And August 15th. Then also in October. Then on December 31st. And every other day in between. Then also on January 20th, 2009.

6. I wrote this to scarsborough
Joe,

Whats really nausiating is surfing cable news and seeing the media cheer nation building. It was an illegal war. There were no WMD. Need I go into how cheney used Chalabi to get this war?

The ends justifying the means is an immoral conclusion.

1,500 soldiers dead, more than 10,000 wounded, 100,000 iraqis dead. Torture seeming to be fine and dandy with this current administration.

These are the facts. How those in the media sleep is the better question. It's come out that some are being paid off by the white house. After watching the nausiating coverage of this election, bragging about shiites gaining an upper hand no less, I really am curious to how many are--since it's really hard to believe there are/were only 3 that have come forward.

Cable news has become a parody of itself, and it's a pity that it has become so complient. It's not news anymore. It's all opinion--an enormously slanted opinion it is, baseless in fact.

7. "Journalism's" Darkest Days
The outright denial all these outlets have in trying to portray this "election" as

1.) Legitimate
2.) Any semblence of democracy
3.) Popularly supported by Iraqis
4.) making this country look good around the world
5.) how great the military/industrial complex is

It's sickening. Since the entire premise is based on lies and any thing that is said that supports the main lie are deliberate lies and highly immoral.

What a waste of hours of "coverage" showing the same dozen "happy Iraqis", "military familys that lost a member who fought for this day" and "our great leadership in bringing "democracy" to Iraq". It was sickening and hopefully millions of us are noting this when the time comes for the media to be held accountable for their complicity with this regime and this ugly, destructive war.
