PNAC getting outed in Al Jazeerah today (Will Pitt's book mentioned)
http://www.aljazeerah.info/9%20o/The%20Project%20for%20the%20New%20American%20Century,%20PNAC%20Exposed,%20By%20L%20E%20Miller.htm

The "Project for the New American Century (PNAC)" dreamt-up in the 'bowels' of neo-cons' nightmares, by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and, other panderers to the Global Corporate Empire, is coming under increasing scrutiny, as it has dominated the Bush Regime's insane domestic and foreign policies. It is unclear whether Bush comprehends its full implications or is simply their "Useful Idiot".
<snip>
Many of PNAC's members and associates have been implicated in conflict of interest scandals involving the ways that they profit from the wars and military spending that they promote. For more information, see the special report entitled Investing in war futures: How Richard Perle, James Woolsey, Halliburton, the Carlyle Group and others profit from the business of killing people and destroying property.
<snip>
'This is a blueprint for US world domination -- a new world order of their making. These are the thought processes of fantasist Americans who want to control the world. I am appalled that a British Labour Prime Minister should have got into bed with a crew which has this moral standing.'
<snip>

Aw come on guys...tell us how you REALLY feel about it!

:grr:

3. No wonder
My local paper had an article quoting Rummy on the difficulties involved with the war on terrorism when Al Jazeerah blankets the mideast with "nothing but lies." Or something to that effect. And the dems at home are to blame, as well, apparently, for not supporting the president's efforts. I don't have a link; the local paper doesn't update the website until later in the day.

4. "What is your stance in regards to PNAC?"
That would be my first question to any candidate. I wish I had thought to ask Dean that when I got to meet him. Back when the crowds were tiny and you could actually get to him.

This should be a question in the debates! Let's see how our Dem candidate *really* feels about it!

7. This may explain why Ashcroft arrested an Al Jazeerah reporter...
...in Spain last week, charging him with "Al Qaeda ties". His crime: he had interviewed Osama bin Laden in 2000. (Isn't that what reporters are supposed to do?)

The gloves are off...freedom of speech, an ephemeral concept at best here in the USA, has been abolished in the US Colonial territories and the rest of the world.

5. Not the Al Jazeerah in M.E.
If you look at the bottom of the homepage, you'll see this:

"Al-Jazeerah Information Center is an independent and a non-profit news and research organization. It is not related to any other identity or government in the world. In particular, it is not related to the Saudi or the Qatari websites with similar names."

This is the official Al Jazeerah English page:

Just so ya know...

6. Congrats, Will
I believe a mention in AJ should be some kind of literary milestone...(or would that be millstone?) :)
