It has got to be down to Dean, Kerry, or Gephardt. But maybe Kucinich or Edwards could run as vp. Clark could get in there if he decides to run.

Dean for sure, maybe Kerry, unfortunately Gephardt is a very strong possibility because he's been around (running) for so long and has lots of labor support. But everything could change if Clark or Hillary or someone else jumps in. I don't believe any of the candidates will accept VP, with the possible exception of Edwards. The VP will come from out of nowhere. I don't think Clark would consider it, but a Dean/Clark ticket would do very well.

and relax a bit. This is far and away too early to be talking about who it is "down to". It may be fun spinning senerios and consulting the ol' ouiji board, but trying to say it is all over but the selection of running mates is jumping the gun just a bit. Let's at least have a couple of primaries or a caucus or two first.

Washington insider or foriegn affairs.

Insders are a plenty But he needs someone who Congress will respect
I think he will likely go outside the also rans unless he picks Graham. I like Clark, but He is not an insider. Watch out for John Spratt or John Breaux maybe Evan Bayh.

Foriegn Affairs ya gotta believe Graham is on the short list here but I still think Bill Richardson is a slamdunk choice.

I think that completely shuffles the deck.

One think his entry COULD do is engender more interest in the Democratic race. The media seem to love him, and don't have much interest in the other candidates, so his entry could get more news coverage than is currently being generated.

Clark can wait for a while yet before announcing, but he runs the risk of seeming too coy if he waits a LOT longer. It's something of a balancing act, and he has to do this right.
