and she has agreed to send me the certification information, on the equipment and software in use in Ga in the 2002 election. I dunno if this has been made available but it will be interesting to see what she sends.

edit: Or if she sends it.

1. Good job -- and if you get hold of it
let me know right away, because I think we can quickly "audit" that against the NASED certified versions, which I finally got my hands on from another source (being as R. Doug Lewis and NASED don't seem to feel compelled to provide it)

Thanks, GB&C

2. If I recall correctly
neither Bev nor DA had any luck getting that info. If she follows through, that would be great!! Thanks for your work on this, gbnc.

From: Clifford D. Tatum
Assistant Director - Legal Affairs
State Elections Division
2 MLK Jr. Drive, Suite 1104
Atlanta, Georgia 30334
Office: 404-657-5352; Fax: 404-651-9531

Our office has received your request under the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 regarding electronic voting information.

Please find outlined below a response relative to each item requested. Public records matching the description of your request do not exist for each of the categories you have identified. However, for the categories in which records do exist, the documents will be made available for inspection or copying at a mutually convenient time.

In response to your second category, we have determined that no records exist in the Secretary of State’s office regarding a certification letter from the lab certifying the version of software used on Election Day.

The request was:
> 2. A copy of the actual certification letter from the lab (certifying
> the version of the software which was used on election day) as well as
>any related memos, letters, etc.

7. Well Well Well

Just called Ms Rogers back asking if the fax had been sent. She said she had turned my request over to...are you ready for this...Mr Cliff Tatum. I asked her again...so there is a certification letter. She said..."I assure you there is certification". We will be handling this under the open records act of the state of Georgia and we have "3 days to respond". Sounds like a stall to me. I really think there is no certification. Are these people are running scared? Or do I smell herring again?

11. Here is the transcript of the call.
GBnC: Hi is this Cathy?

Rogers: Yes it is

GBnC: Hi My name is GBnc I understand you have certifications on the Diebold voting machines.

Rogers: Didn't you send me an email at about 2 oclock this morning?

GBnC: Yes I was up late and up early. DO you have that information?

Rogers: HAHAHAHA Would you like me to send you that information?

GBnC: I was really hoping you could fax it to me can you do that?

Rogers: Um yes I can can you hold on for just a second?

GBnC: Sure no problem

Pause for an eternity.........

Rogers: I can't find anyone to fax it right now...could I get your address and fax number?

GBnC: Sure..........

On the second call I was informed that my request would be handled by Cliff under the Ga open records act and it would be three days for my request to be processed.

So there you have it
