Postponed or Cancelled Elections ?
The Patriot act significantly increased the war powers act of 1947, as it is related to the Presidents ability to postpone or cancel elections, Specifically removed were legislative oversight and consent and judicial review. The President now has absolute unfettered ability to simply not postpone, but to permanently cancel elections as long as a declared state of national emergancy exists.

Is this where we are heading ?

1. Do you have chapter and verse
or at least a link? I suspected this was true, but couldn't find anything to substantiate my fears.

8. Al Martin? Oh PUHLEEEEZE!
Sorry, that guy is simply NOT credible. He is either a shameless self-promoting fearmonger or a deliberate disinfo agent.

ALWAYS look for outside verification, absolutely do NOT take Al Martin's word for anything!

9. Al Martin is not a reliable source
I would say it is more likely that Batboy will be elected than for anything coming from Al Martin to be true.

12. Al Martin
makes all sorts of allegations with no attribution. Or he'll quote "sources" that are impossible to verify. I don't know if he makes this stuff up by himself, or what, but don't believe anything he says unless you also find it in some other, reputable, source.

2. Nothing would surprise anymore,
They have completely ignored the US law against assassinating foreign politicians, and many other laws. These guys are thiefs and criminals and the ho-hum sheeple don't get it yet, but let's hope the majority will notice their pocketbook emptying and no services, road repair, education, etc.

3. This will never happen
Bush and his thugs primary concerns are robbing people and accumulating money. Their wealth is maximized when they atleast maintain the illusion of democracy. Although the 2004 election may be rigged it will not be cancelled, there is too much money at stake.

5. I suspect that's correct
...but a scenario I can envision is the landslide against Bush overwhelming the crooked programming in those Diebold machines and the "election" surprising the Bush gang with a defeat.

I can see them manufacturing a crisis and using that as an excuse to declare martial law, void the election, and cling to power.

It's farfetched, yes, but this gang doesn't seem to be particularly troubled by legal nicety or the opinions held by their fellow citizens.

11. Couldn't you see it coming?
That's how fascists operate. First you steal an election, then you change things around to suit yourself, and finally you cancel elections because you can't have a pesky electorate upsetting your future plans of empire.

13. There are many ways to cancel an election
The "Garden Plot" doctrine gives the president the http://www.msnbc.com/news/546844.asp">power to invoke martial law under The Insurrection Act. If martial law is declared in response to a well-timed terrorist event in the U.S., the 2004 Presidential Election could be suspended and the PNAC-driven Bush Administration could remain in the White House indefinitely.

"A http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/32902_bush27.shtml">dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier." - George W. Bush
