This Morning's Schadenfreude Moment Brought To You By: The Carrier Landing
I just realized something that amuses and gratifies me immensely.

*There is no way they will be able to use that carrier footage in the re-selection campaign.*

They spent all that money to stage that fucking thing...and it's garbage now. Why? Because people have been associating it for months with the start of the Bad Part of the War, i.e., the occupation. We passed the point a little while ago where there were more American dead after Mission Accomplished than before. Now, if they put a picture of Bush on the deck of that carrier on the tube, everyone will be thinking about how that was the turning point...down the wrong road.

Either Rove is smart enough to realize this or he's not. Either way it's a win for us. If he tries to use that footage, it's gonna help us. And if he realizes he has to leave it in the can...well, that's gotta sting.

Either way, WE can use the footage! Thanks, Karl!

Moohoohahaha,

The Plaid Adder

1. Maybe *THEY* can't use it, but it would make a great spot ad
for the DNC! A scroll of names of those lost over bush*sox on the carrier with the banner in the background would be very compelling, imho.

bush* are a national disgrace

3. Did you see Franken's parody of the landing?
On The Daily Show last night. He actually stood up and imitated Bush's cocky walk and ...uuuummmm....how do i put this????....hip thrusts .

He also suggested that the Dems could use the carrier footage in an ad. He gave an example of Kerry contrasting himself with Bush, saying, "Playing Dress-up is fun", but then cutting to actual footage of Kerry in Nam.....

I really like the "playing dress-up is fun line.....hope we get to use it.........

4. And best of all
As part of ripping chimpy a new anal orifice on the carrier landing stunt, Al also mentioned when Dubya really did have a chance to be a real fighter pilot his daddy pulled strings to get him a cushy, away from the front lines ANG posting, and then the Dim Son still went AWOL for a year.

that the so-called liberal media will start reminding voters that this dip-shit's dad sent him to camp during the Viet Nam war, and he left early when he got tired of the rides.

We could say how fun it is to play dress up and pretend we are a real hero but here is a real hero and have a picture of Kerry in full dress uniform with his silver star and bronze star and purple hearts. Then flash on Bush* with an overprint saying AWOL Could do the same with Clark in full uniform. It would make a great Democratic ad. This was said by Al Franken last night on Daily Show so not my idea but a good one.

7. Ahhhh Haaaa Haaaaa! You're right! What a delicious irony!
This will have to be part of one of our anti-shrub spots.

Whoever would have believed that act of supreme insolence would wind up biting His Heinous in the ass!

17. "His Heinous" That is great, but...
shouldn't it be 'biting His Heinous in the whistle ass?

The shrubster in his dress up costume should work well for us in areas with large military/vet populations. I plan on using it here in Tiny Town where the VFW is the center of everything.

8. ummmmm, doesn't this kind of depend on who we have as our
nominee??? think about it.......I wouldn't make fun of the dressing up, the posing with military, etc. unless I had a fist full of medals or stars and bars on me and could "laugh outloud". If we call him "dressing up", I'd like to see the photo of some of our boys and what outfits they would put them in in regard to, ohhh let's say, the Nam era.

9. Even a Repub Naval Aviator ...
that my husband knows (my hubby was a Navy fighter pilot, too) thought the carrier landing was, to quote him, "Cheap". he wouldn't say anything beyond that, but that one word spoke volumes!

13. I wondered about that
My father was Naval Aviation for 20+ years. Naval Avaitors are a proud (and perhaps rightfully) arrogant group because they are probably the best pilots in the world. I can't imagine them taking too kindly to someone trying to gain notariety throough a cheap immitation.

10. Remember the infamous "RATS" subliminal message?
Dems should do the same with Bush - flash "AWOL" behind Bush in his Halloween costume. Sure, the Repugs would scream "dirty tricks", but it would be all over the networks, and get people wondering, "What's this AWOL thing all about?"

12. They actually put the pic on the press passes!
I loved Clark's response when shown the W doll by Maher:

Clark: First of all, I think it's a great flight suit, and a lot of...
(audience applause and laughter) great men and women have worn that suit
with honor, and have risked their lives, have lost their lives, in that
flight suit. And I think when you see that doll, what it will remind us
of is the premature celebration at the end of this war.

20. Another way to tear Bush a new asshole
This is something Symbolman could whip up in a couple of hours...

Split the screen in half. On the left side, crossfade between different shots of the Shrub in military uniform. Be sure they're taken between 2001 and 2004.

On the right side, crossfade between shots of Shrub's role models in their miltiary uniforms. Below each photo, superimpose the name of the dictator, the nation they ran, the number of people they had disappeared. Make sure Hitler is last.

A similar commercial might crossfade shots of Bush giving the Hitler salute with Hitler giving it.

24. As a Vietnam vet...
...I'd like to see the footage used, too. But I would superimpose over it a KIA (killed in action) total since his stunt and images of funerals (none of which the chimp has bothered to attend); and total WIA (wounded in action) for same period with pictures of the amputees and permanently disfigured burn victims filling hallways in overburdened U.S. military hospitals. And I would close with a graphic showing his decision to cut the combat pay of troops now in Iraq, cut spending on support programs for their families, and cut Veterans' Administration spending by nearly $20 billion over the next five years.

And then I'd do one of his pseudo-macho "bring 'em on" statement and every time he said "bring 'em on" I'd give five seconds to the spouse or child of a serviceperson who has been wounded or killed since the remark to tell Bush what they think of him.

And then, I'd show him in the schoolroom in Florida on 9/11... oh never mind.

You get the idea. I don't like this man. I have no respect for him. The first thing I ever heard him say was a lie and and it has gotten worse from there. He ain''t the kingpin. He ain't the brains. He's just a rich man's bully/coward son who spent his childhood sticking firecrackers up frogs' rear ends and laughing as he watched them blow up and his years as a young man snorting coke and staying drunk while having deserted the cushy military post his influence had landed while other young men suffered and died in his place.

Like me, he's an old man now. And he may be president, but as far as I can see, he hasn't changed all that much. Thanks for letting me rant.
