Condi didn't know Iraqi people were deprived?!
This is the national security adviser who helped rush us into war?

“I know it’s hard to believe that you could underestimate that,” Rice said “But when you look at an infrastructure that looked gleaming, if you looked at pictures of Baghdad—but when you think about it, it was pictures of presidential palaces—and you look instead at the living conditions of people in Basra or in Sadr City; if you look at the fact that the electrical power grid was serving really only 50 percent of the country; if you look at the fact that there were large parts of the country with no sewage, yes, this is a hard task.”

For an incomparable deconstruction of Condi's unraveling:

3. She is so delusional, the entire administration really.
They listened to the Perle neocons who based information off ex-Iraquis who hadn't actually set foot in Iraq for 20 plus years. They saw what they wanted to see.

What the hell did she think 12 years of sanctions had done to the country, not to mention why in the hell do we spend billions on the CIA if no one listens to them?

This woman is a sick, disgusting bag of dirt and I hope her day of reckoning is soon.

4. Proves once again
she's an expert only on an empire that has been dead for 10 years. Unfortunately she hasn't been bothered to become expert on the rest of the world.

“But when you look at an infrastructure that looked gleaming, if you looked at pictures of Baghdad...

:wtf: Heck, I've gotten more accurate info about Iraq from the pages of National Geographic!

9. At an anti-war demonstration here in Indy last fall, a woman
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 10:06 AM by ignatius
spoke about the appalling conditions in Iraq. She said medicine, chemicals to clean drinking water,so many children dying from lack of medicines...all caused by the sanctions.

She was a Jewish woman, fyi, from the little state of Indiana, who knew more about Iraq than Rice.

This is appalling.

20. How the hell
could Iraq's infrastructure be "gleaming" after 12 years of UN sanctions? She is either the stupidest woman in the world or the most dishonest. Unbelievable...

Deprived with Depraved...or probably not.

What can you expect from a member of the current mis-administration whom Exxon wanted to christen their latest Supertanker over?

May the "Exxon Rice" wash up on the farm pond of the Crawford Pig-Farm and taint it's soil forever.

8. Scuse me condi dearest
You are the NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER to the Pretzledent of the U.S. and you had weapons inspectors and CIA running all over Iraq for years and Rummfilled even claimed to know the exact location of alleged WMD.

You have spy satellites hovering over Iraq for years which can take pictures from space of the bald spots on top of people's heads.

With all this information, I just have one question.

Are you STUPID or INCOMPETENT?

It's one or the other. No other choices Condi Dearest.

11. There are a lot of things Condi didn't know about Iraq
Like they didn't have any WMDs
or that they had no link to 9/11
or that they posed little threat to other countries
or that it would be a mistake to try and occupy the country

12. Yep, She Said W.Germany Didn't Know About E.Germany
That was in Sunday's yakfest where she said it wasn't unusual for our intel not to penetrate the inner reality of places and gave the example that West Germany didn't realize the extent of decay in East Germany until unification. Right.

13. It's b/c nearly all intel on Iraq has come from INC...
Chalabi's family fled Iraq after the coup on the monarchy, had nothing to do with saddam. Chalabi spoke to congress in 2000 to pander for 90 mil for operations in Iraq=payoffs to defectors. He also was barking claims of WMDs. I think the world court needs to take a long hard look at INC when the smoke clears from this criminal war, perpetrated by criminals for criminals.

Maybe when anybody mentions C.R., they should show a picture of the tanker instead of the woman.

It might start making an impact.

19. Exactly! It was us!
That's why I can't tell if she's being dim or dishonest in this instance.

It's also amazing that given this perfect opportunity to rip her to shreds, the press corps does absolutely nothing. I mean, just the simple question, "Weren't a lot of those conditions brought about by the first Gulf War and the sanctions US leveled against Iraq beginning in 1991--in other words, during the last administration you were a part of?"

It would have been interesting to see her worm out of that one.

22. I have no idea. They "touched" Barbara Lee and Cynthia McKinney
Is it because she's a black conservative? Or is it just because she's a conservative? Is there anyone in the Bush administration the press isn't "respectful" of--or afraid of?
