I want you all to call ur families and tell them you love them, cause the end of the world is here, Zell Miller agreed withn his own party on the Corzine amendment, which essentially seeks to block these horrible changes to the student loan service that will cause less money to be given to the states. I better stock up on canned goods and prepar a bomb shelter because the apocalypse is upon us! :-)

2. He must have a terminal disease...

Not running for re-election.. making ethical votes with his party intead of screwing us over with the Repugs...

He's trying to get into Heaven, I think.

Or at least shorten his stay in Purgatory.

3. He's just zigzagging again
He was also the lone Democrat to vote for for Bush's overtime bill, while 6 Repubs broke ranks to oppose it. That man is still as inscrutable as ever:

7. Zig Zag Zell has really lived up to his nickname as a senator.

As a governor, he was pretty good. I don't know what his agenda is but don't care, either. I'm just hoping that our next senator will be better. Prior to Zell (and, now, Saxby), we had pretty decent senators, even the Republicans weren't bad. Zell replaced Republican Paul Coverdell after his death . We'd have been better off if Coverdell had lived and Zell never gone to Washington.

5. The amendment passed!
Woo hoo! This is a victory for student loans. I am going to email Chafee, Collins and Voinovich and thank them for showing some common sense. This may save my ass from having to pay more for school!

6. Nope, Still a DINO
The vote I just saw, Miller was the ONLY Dem who voted "no" on some amendment re: energy credit for low income families.

9. They passed a bill to over turn the new regulations put in by Bush
That changed overtime pay rules so they screwed a bunch of workers, all dems voted to overturn them except Miller (even our pres. candidates manged to show up) and six repukes voted for overturning them as well. In fact, Ted Stevens voted with us! When does that ever happen. What a tool Miller is!

10. Wow knock me over with a feather ~ Ted Stevens voted against the
Bush* bill. That is a first in my memory. He is about as staunch a conservative as they get. Are you sure you got the name correct?

12. Actually, Stevens voted against the free trade acts too
Alaska is a big labor state. But still it is surprising.
