Where are the Dem/Actor candidates? |
|
I work in the entertainment business, and it's no secret that the vast majority of my colleagues are democrats, and most are outspoken. I'd put the figure at somewhere around 80 to 90%. So, one would think that there'd be more interest in these folks making a move into politics. Or at least there would be more democrat entertainers in the field than republican entertainers.
But instead we have a fairly rich track record of republican (and independent) actors and entertainers getting into politics:
Reagan, Arnold, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson, Clint Eastwood, Jeese Ventura.
I can't think of a single "name" democrat who has made the leap. What's the story here?

They have CAREERS to continue. I mean, when you HAVE a good paying job, why go looking to be in politics?
Besides, George Takai and Mr. Rogers both were involved in Los Angeles city politics...
