Gannon, propaganda and the nervous right... |
|
Well I am convinced.
Something really big is happening. The bloggers have opened the big can of worms. It is evident in the number of RW comments hitting my recent posts. Two items really have hit a nerve and it looks like the anonymous Bush propaganda operatives are making a effort to undermine the efforts of progressive blogs to reveal the truths behind the Bush "message machine".
Crimes have now surely been committed. A cover up is underway and it is only a matter of days before the whole mess blows up.
By simply capsulating the info gathered from DailyKOS, DU, AmericaBlog and posting them to my site I have quickly drawn fire from the RW. No doubt freepers have been instructed to disrupt in any way possible. As Gannon was one of them and now they have that taste in thier mouth of being decieved and some might channel that into destructive and criminal behavior.
As the blogs gather the data condencing it into easy to digest bits is the next step. Gannon ties up all what is wrong in the WHite House. The corruption, pandering, propaganda, lying and all the other crap that swept into the Washington when Bush rolled in.
The question is now that the White House is getting backed into a corner what will they do next?
We have seen in the last two days increased activitiy by Porter Goss and Mueller in cranking up the fear volume.
But when you ad to that the CNN photo's of the same nuke plant in three different countries it doesn't lend much credibility to the "intelligence" coming from Washington does it..?
Change is occuring. More and more people are recognizing that the MSM has failed. Failed? or were they wildly succesful? Succesful at convincing a nation to elect GW Bush for a second term, to start a war based on lies. I guess it depends on how you see yourself in our divided nation, on the right or the left.
Regardless of what the media does now the truth IS out (Thanks Will).
We are one nation, divided and people will have to choose are they with the corrupt, wicked leaders of this country or are they Americans.
Peace...

1. The funny thing is watching CNN try to cover their ass and not |
|
cover this and blame it all on the "liberal bloggers" by framing it as a question of "have they gone too far?" These media whores better realize that we have become the media because they weren't willing to do their damn jobs. And they better have instant recall on what their role is really supposed to be or they are going to continue to see their ratings--and revenues fall as a result. And good enough for them, I say.

Hear! Hear! Bloggers are becoming the media.
You're right.
My God, Blitzer had Gannon on his show and asked him virtually nothing, making me think the "interview" was meant to resucitate Gannon, legitimize him, and that Blitzer is on the WH payola payroll.
My God, if this was Clinton's WH with a gay, amle whore with a fake name, from a fake news group asking fake questions, etc ?!?!

It's all the bloggers fault. What THEY KNOW, is that if they had half-assed done their jobs, we wouldn't need the blogs.

That most or all the WH press coprs is on the WH payola payroll in some way or fashion.
Guckert-Gannon news is everywhere, Bush holds this morning's press conference, and not a single reporter asked a single gannon question---nothing.

20. I think corporate media is on the payroll too |
|
This Gannon thing has been an education. They messed up the story on WMD so they wrung their hands and did a mea culpa and went right back to their old ways. Armstrong Williams came along and they treated it as if it were an isolated incident. Then Rather and Jordan and they treat it like the crime of the century forcing two "liberals" out of their jobs.
Now Gannon happnes and the corporate media types shoot the messenger. Bloggers. Because Gannon is a Bushie. (They fail to mention that the Rather and Jordan executions were driven by bloggers too.)
The BIGGEST eye opener, in the unlikely event there are people here as dense as I was, was John Stewart last night. Stewart got it exactly right. Or rather Ted Hitler did. Corporate media has its credibility and all the bloggers have is facts!
This is not a pat on the back to bloggers, although they VERY MUCH deserve it. This is a black eye for corporate media. Not only did they miss the story, when bloggers found the story, they covered it up.
Corporate media should realize that people may soon view them as propagandists with NO credibility.

want to run the FCC and try to eliminate the laws holding them back from having all the media.
One Nation, Under Rupert . . .
Remember, actual dollars are counted as "campaign contributions". How many times has Rush spun it that, while he was a "guest" of Bush41 and spent the night in the Lincoln bedroom, it didn't affect his "stance"? Boy, if you are invited to spend the night in a palace, for free, you sure as hell would swallow when that cock you're sucking on starts a-jumping . . .

5. The idea that a possible homosexual sits in the oval office... |
|
...must be acting like kryptonite with most right-wingers. They are probably looking more closely at Bush's strange behaviors, mannerisms and ways of speaking and thinking, "Uhmmm....could we have actually voted a girlie man into the oval office?"

"Rove prepared for the harder edges of US politics by surviving his youth. Born on Christmas Day 1950 in Denver, Colorado, he grew up in or near the Rockies, where his father worked as a geologist. On his 19th birthday, his father walked out on him. Soon afterwards, he found out that he was not his father after all, the news dropped into a dinner-table conversation by his aunt and uncle. Twelve years later, alone in Reno, his mother committed suicide."--snip-- "Like Dick Cheney, he avoided the Vietnam draft with a college deferment, but gave up his education to work on Republican campaigns, and never got a degree. He launched his political career by wresting control of the College Republicans, a radical group in the Nixon era. It was an unpleasant business. In an interesting precursor to the Florida battle 17 years later, Rove took on his opponent, Robert Edgeworth, principally on procedural grounds - challenging the credentials of every single Edgeworth delegate to the1973 College Republican convention and putting forward a rival delegate."--snip-- "The aggressive tactics won the 22-year-old Rove a walk-on role in the Watergate saga that was consuming the nation. A report was published in the Washington Post on August 10, 1973, titled " Probes Official as Teacher of Tricks", gave an account, based on tape recordings, of how Rove and a colleague had been touring the country giving young Republicans political combat training, in which they recalled their feats of derring-do, such as Rove's Chicago heist at the Dixon headquarters..."--snip-- "The incident marked the genesis of the Rove-Bush axis and it was in Washington that Rove met the younger Bush. He fell, politically speaking, in love. "Huge amounts of charisma, swagger, cowboy boots, flight jacket, wonderful smile, just charisma - you know, wow," Rove recalled years later. In 1977, Rove was sent to Texas, in theory to run a political action committee, but according to one Texan political consultant who knew him at the time, "It was really to baby-sit Bush back when Bush was drinking".more... http://www.guardian.co.uk/uselections2004/story/0,13918,1165126,00.html_______

Today I was just thinking about that curious statement Rove had made and wishing I had a link.
The incident marked the genesis of the Rove-Bush axis and it was in Washington that Rove met the younger Bush. He fell, politically speaking, in love. "Huge amounts of charisma, swagger, cowboy boots, flight jacket, wonderful smile, just charisma - you know, wow," Rove recalled years later.

...under their breaths and thinking in those few areas of their cerebral cortex where the synopses are still firing! By the way, if Bush decided to come out of the closet, I would have no problem what-so-ever with that, but I would still hold the same opinion of him and that is that he is a total A**hole!

Things are going to change very quickly now. We need to keep pushing the fact that the corporate media is nothing but 24/7 BS. Gannon was a gift, and it's looking like the year of the Blog. Good news for everybody except BushCo.

16. You can't sense that they're scared shitless of the Blogs? |
|
They're terrified, and rightly so.. To the point where they're actually asking themselves on-air why the Blogs are so popular. They're also spending more time wondering why they suck than reporting the biggest story in years, and people are starting to "get it". The corporate media has been outed. Last night's Daily Show was the final crack in the dam.

28. The last sentence in ABC's The Note is VERY telling: |
|
Media: Anne Kornblut finds that Ari Fleischer had doubts about Jeff Gannon and said he stopped calling on the man after a while. LINK
Why is it that most savvy Democrats think this story is going away, while some pretty plugged in Republicans say the opposite?

|
It's as if they want to pretend they're above making any fuss over ANY scandal. Last time I checked, Republicans don't learn or lead by example.
I think it's interesting though that The Note says that plugged in Republicans don't think the story will go away anytime soon. It's encouraging to know they're worried.
And for what it's worth, the Howard Stern show was laughing about the story this morning. What we should do is pester the entertainment news shows like Entertainment Tonight...once a scandal is told on those horrible shows, they never die.
