I hope McClintock drops out of the recall election
if he does--that means that there will be a good chunk of right wingers that WON'T come to the polls.

They won't vote for Ahnuld no matter what. It would bode very well for both Bustamonte and Davis

1. It would be better for him to stay in
And it's not like McClintock can win anyways, so he doesn't hurt us by staying in. In fact, he helps, because he splits the Republican vote. I think that some conservatives could think about voting for Arnold, a lot of the republican congresspeople who endorsed him in California are conservatives.

3. And I think that calling him Ahnuld
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 05:07 PM by TheYellowDog
is wrong. I think it's a deliberate jab at his accent, and it brings the level of political discourse down. I won't engage in subtle immigrant bashing.

4. Doesn't the gay pride flag

symbolize tolerance and acceptance? It goes against your entire message to be intolerant and make fun of someone's heritage.

11. Ahnuld has been here for what, 30 flippin' years?
He's an actor, fer crisakes. He's powerful. he's messing around in yet more Republican bullshit.

He's not some little poverty-stricken 70 year old widow off the boat from Dusseldorf slaving in the bowels of a Hilton hotel bleaching sperm out of bedsheets for $3.50 an hour.

So I say fire away. He's a public figure. He is what he is and what he's made of himself.

Why hi-jack this thread with PC horseshit?

12. is calling Bush Chimp boy wrong
because it makes fun of his facial features or is calling Cheney Difibulator Dick because it makes fun of his medical history

Anyway, Ahnuld is a public figure. If I was making fun of the German woman in my office, that would be different.

Ahnuld is a perfectly legitimate way to make fun of him. Obviously, you never watched Saturday Night Live when they had the two German bodybuilders on there. They made fun of him.

5. No, it would give his votes to Arnold.
McClintock dividing the Republican vote with Arnold gives a better margin to Bustamante. He's not going to quit anyway. He has a strong backing from those conservatives who aren't too thrilled with Arnold, but that doesn't mean that they will stay away from the polls.

7. Just curious - even if you drop out you will still be on the ballot,?
Isn't it getting too late to get offically removed?

8. I think McClintock
will not drop out. If I were McClintock, I would suggest that Arnold drop out.

I do not agree with McClintok on the issues, but I do respect his perservernce. I think if he drops out, he will lose credibility with his supporters and pay a price in future elections.

9. You're right; it does help *Davis*
Even if a fraction of those McClinturds don't show up at the polls, it may be all we need to send Davis over the top.
