Earlier this evening we reached our goal of bringing in 1000 donations. Thank you so much to everyone who donated during this fund drive, thank you to all of our monthly subscribers, and thank you to everyone who has donated in the past.

As many of you know, running this website is a full-time job, and it is not cheap. Our expenses are currently in the range of about $15,000 per month, and they constantly increase as our traffic increases. We couldn't possibly keep this website online without the help of generous DU members like you.

This successful fund drive guarantees that our community will continue to thrive and grow. Thank you so much. You are the greatest group of people I know.

I made the realization last week that DU _IS_ my news source ... Since I added the LBN RSS feed, I've been TOO up to date! My mother calls saying did you see this or that, and I'm forced to say "yeah I saw that hours ago" :)

Other than a personal request I made in the paypal donation to skinner, the only thing I'd make a wish for is RSS feeds for groups or even the cutting-edge PERSONAL RSS feeds which can keep you apprised of individual threads one marks for tracking!

I know, I know I just keep asking for more, but only because I want DU to be even better. And quite frankly there is only one reason I want DU to be the best it can be -- to change the world! As we all know, this world could use some help...

Keep up DUing your AMAZING work!

You are a lifeline in a sea of red. I don't what I would have done without DUers on Nov. 3rd (or since).

I basically took the money I would have spent on annual subscriptions to magazines, and, donated to this site instead.

The magazines' information is old, of the corporate-mediat variety, and very inadequate.

I can't believe what I have learned about social orgs., political orgs., current events, and religion here. The information and research that people come up with is incredible.

And the best part ... is what I learn from DUers' own personal experiences.

I just hope that the Rethuglicans don't harm you in any way, in order to shut us up (never know with this administration).

Although I do not get the opportunity to post as much as I would like due to responsibilities with my career and personal life (plus I run a political debate board on MSN that has been in the top-10 out of 1,000+ boards for a year running) I am honored to dig deep and donate my $100.00 torwards the good work here.

I believe in what DU does and it's mission. I love to watch the conservative trolls who try to come in here with their "poor me I am so persecuted" nonsense and promptly be booted outta here... I for one have grown tired of the conservative crap and their strangle-hold on the media. "Libruul" media bias is a sad sick joke and a major heavy duty LIE. That is why I find it so refreshing to see shows like Oberman's who run contrary to the conservative talking points (in his case he uses humor).

Lately I have been meeting many Democrats while traveling... including one on the plane last week. She almost whispered to me that she was a democrat. I asked her why she was so ashamed to say it out loud? She said because of all of the negativities thrown at dems by the conservative corporate media and their shills. I told her to never be ashamed of what you believe and to stand toe-to-toe with these conservative "bullies"... they are like dogs and if you show fear they will only come at you more. I have personally experienced this.

So once again to Democratic Underground and other sites like Media Matters for America my hats off to you!
