Background behind story on DU homepage

The article on the DU homepage "Say What?"

It mentions "All your base are belong to us" and "Someone set us up the bomb." These are quotes from the Sega Genesis game Zero Wing. It was originally Japanese and the American version was horribly translated. I actually played this game before - it sucked, but it's famous for the quotes.

The text of the game is funny, and so is the video. It really doesn't have much to do with the article, but I though you guys/gals might be interested.

1) Astounded they used the quotes on this site of all places.

You might not know this one. I am a gamer, so it's famous to me, but the average joe on DU might not know this one. That's why I thought they might be interested.

It's just been around since, like, what, 1998? Or am I overdating it?

I remember the first time I saw that video, I laughed so hard for DAYS. There's a group that used to be on Mp3.com, Laziest Men On Mars, they did remixes of the All Your Base music, they also did stuff for the Terrible Secret of Space, if you're familar with that.
