Does Kucinich still oppose human cloning? |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 08:27 PM by TheYellowDog
Kucinich co-sponsored a bill in July 2001 to prohibit human cloning. During that year, he also voted to ban family planning funding in US aid abroad. He also votes yes on making it a federal crime to harm fetus while committing other crimes. Up until this year, he has voted to ban "partial-birth" abortions, and he voted yes to bar transporting minors from crossing state lines to get an abortion. Progressive, huh?
Well, does he still oppose human cloning, since that issue is closely tied to other anti-choice issues?

3. Does he oppose theraputic or reproductive cloning? |
|
I hope he doesn't oppose theraputic, because the Bush position has set back medical science back decades.

7. like most politicians, he probably doesn't know anymore about it |
|
than Dean, Lieberman, Kerry, or your average Republican. Cloning is a complex issue and we haven't figured out all the ramifications yet. I'm glad that Kucinich would err on the side of caution when it comes to human life and the environment. I know that Kucinich supports the best medical treatment available.

but this isnt my big issue, look if he were anti choice as they come, pro death penalty like a Texas republican, and supporting the current war then I would have my iffs on him.

when you aren't a woman. It's easy to just say, oh, it doesn't matter, I'm not going to get pregnant.

4. Being he is a Catholic ... |
|
I strongly suspect the answer is that NO he does not support human cloning - sort of goes with the religion IMHO (as a Catholic myself I say this).

bringing religious views into politics, or does that only apply to Republicans? I'm opposed to it from either party.
