Clark Almost Certainly In (FAUX)
<...>

Still, Dean's advisers hold out little hope that Clark will do anything other than seek the presidency himself.

That sentiment is echoed in Clark's camp. A senior adviser, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Clark has signaled to associates that he is poised to enter the race next week barring last-minute objections from his wife or an unexpected determination that he couldn't mount an effective campaign.

First time I've ever been thrilled to read a FAUX news item!

GODDAMN, I hope they're right for once!

1. but of course...
Fox spins the Dean staffers as being hopeless losers who hate Clark, even though AFAIK, all news reports have been to the effect that Clark and Dean love eachother to death, and will work as hard as they can for one of them to win.

2. Funny spin.
I see what you mean. The wording is tricky. Someone call Al Franken. And I just had a thought.

3. I'm not 100% certain about Clark's politics but from what I have
seen in the past week on Maher's Real Time and taking on Sean Insanity I am very impressed. I suspect he is less liberal than I would like him to be but I believe he is Karl Rove's biggest nightmare and for this reason alone I'm supporting him 100%.

5. Welcome to the Club!
It's a distinguished and growing group. :-)

I actually think Clark is a lot more liberal than people think. I've read everything about him obsessively, watched everything he's appeared in on DigitalClark.com, and he's VERY progressive. On every issue I can think of, pretty much.

8. Too bad Kucinich can't win huh?
I hate the Bush-lite, wheeler-dealer guys.

Why is it Kucinich can't win? Cause he's boring? I heard all the Dem candidates are boring like Gore, of course I heard it on Fox.

11. It's because his politics are too far to the left.
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 01:39 AM by BillyBunter
I like the guy. I admire his ethics, his manifest good will, and his courage. But he comes close to being a socialist, and that isn't what people want. His extreme pro-peace views are also not what America, a country that loves swagger, wants. His 'Department of Peace,' popular on DU, would get snickered at in many places across America.

America will have to suffer some kind of major humiliation before the world view that Kucinich champions will become popular, IMO.

7. I wish he'd just do it
The uncertainty is driving me nuts.

I think he'd be an excellent candidate. One I'd have to seriously consider.

I hesitate to get involved in the primary fight, though, as there are so many good candidates.

9. Plus You're a Moderator
And should probably stay neutral. :-) I'm actually really glad I'm NOT a Moderator now, since I would have EXPLODED trying to contain my Clark advocacy!

BTW... :hi:

I blew any neutrality I may have had a long time ago, though. :-)

16. I used to think so
Lately, I'm thinking that the respective "camps" of supporters might actually be incompatible, even if the candidates themselves aren't.

Then again, I've been getting depressed over quite a few things lately, so this could be just one more.

18. Maybe General Hamlet should throw the damn I-Ching and be done with it
So, if the Groundhog-king sees his shadow, does that mean 6 more weeks of indecision, or can we just get the hijinks into double digits and get on with life?

It will suck plenty of attention, then the California re-galling will take all the fire, then we'll have a month or so of jockeying for position, then the holidays will muck up everything, and we'll be stampeded into making a decision.

He should decide immediately; this is abusive to the common goal.
