Brianna LaHara is a 12 year old girl
http://libra.lunarpages.com/~realto3/Brianna/index.phpShe is also the target of a lawsuit by the Recording Industry Association of America. Brianna's mother was forced to settle the lawsuit for $2000. Pocket change to the RIAA, this is money that is of great importance to a single mother raising a family in New York.
You can read about Brianna's plight here
http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/5349.htmWhen I heard about this suit, I was outraged. The RIAA has said that they are filing these lawsuits tostop internet piracy. They argue that downloading music does not support the artists. This is a personal challenge to Cary Sherman, president of the RIAA, and the rest of the orginization:
Find me ONE artist whose music Brianna downloaded that supports this settlement
Find me one, a single one of the artists she shared online, who will publicly support this lawsuit, and stands to benefit from the lawsuit made in his or her name. If you do, contact me (taylorfinley@hotmail.com) and I will post his or her statement of support, unedited and without comment, on this website.
http://libra.lunarpages.com/~realto3/Brianna/index.phpI made this website to help pay for Brianna's settlement. If we can get all $2000 back, AWESOME! If not, lets at least see how much of it we can raise! I will be getting in contact with Brianna's mother, and as soon as we can get a paypal set up for her, I'll post a link here. In the meanwhile, check back next week, or sign up (

I understand that, under current copyright laws, online trading of music is illegal, and I do not support online sharing. However, the RIAA has crossed a line, in this recent movement to sue fans. I will no longer be purchasing any non-independent music off of the itunes music store, or in record stores. Any commercial music I purchase
will be purchased off of online auction sites and local independent used record stores.
