Angry Iraqis tell of U.S. troops making fatal errors
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 10:49 AM by JohnyCanuck
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Dr. Talib Abdul Jabar Al Sayeed was asleep at home with 11 relatives, he said, when U.S. troops surrounded his house, stormed his gate and began firing.

At least three dozen American soldiers blazed away for more than 60 minutes in the early morning hours of July 31, the British-trained physician recounted recently, pointing to the hundreds of bullet holes that still mark his stately home.

"I shouted at them with all my strength to stop shooting," said Al Sayeed, 62. "I will open the door. Please give me a chance."

Eventually, Al Sayeed said, the commanding officer told him he was sorry: They had raided the wrong house. But not before a soldier burst in and struck Al Sayeed with a rifle butt, knocking him down. The soldier kicked him in the ribs - an X-ray later showed they were cracked - and others bound his hands with plastic cuffs as his wife and young nieces cowered in the next room. They also took his three grown sons in for questioning, and they remain in a military jail in the south of Iraq.

Of all the clusterfucks that have occurred down through hitory, the Idiot Boy's adventures in Iraq will surely go down in history as one for the record books. BTW Dr. Sayeed is quoted in the article as saying, "I loved the Americans before this happened, but now I hate them," and Idiot Boy has the gall to pretend this is all about reducing the risks of enraged Middle Eastern terrorists attacking the USA. It's probaly unlikely that Dr. Sayeed will start shooting RPGs at Humvees tomorrow, but if he now finds out that a neigbor is a member of an underground group setting up ambushes and mining roads etc, is it likely he will do anything to alert the invaders and occupiers? NOT BLOODY LIKELY.

2. Are There Any Rules Of Engagement In Iraq Whatsoever?
It sure doesn't read like it. If there are, can they be this lassie-fare? For the safety of the Iraqi people, we need some oversight there in a hurry.

9. A (Flash)video ...
... of the various Al's (including al-Qaeda?) with Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al" might make a good Daily Show bit. :-)

4. I think iraqis are beginning to believe the american occupier will be
to them as the israelis are to the palestinians. I don't for a minute believe the resistance is coming solely from pesky baathist and foreign terra groups but rather a ppl who are nationalist resisting an occupation as well. I know if this country was invaded and occupied, I'd do my part to spoil the occupiers plans eventhough I loathe Bush Co.

6. My guess is that the sons were held because,
If they were not anti-American before, they are now.

7. why do I feel like these are not errors at all?
but rather all part of the plan to demoralize, terrorize, and fragment the population?

there are lots of jobs that will need slave labor once Halli gets everything going..

Fuck you George Bush, Dickhead Cheney, Don Rumsfeld and your goddamned goons
