He deceived the American people. Iraq posed no direct threat to the American people, as he claimed. There is no credible evidence that Saddam Hussein possessed nuclear weapons or weapons of mass destruction. Now Al Qaeda has regrouped and has resurfaced in Afghanistan, and Bush is trying to salvage the operation there while pouring billions into what looks like a quagmire in Iraq.
