Anti-war protestors, get a load of this....
from the Free Republic website...

Join Operation Infinite FReep / Rally for America! Free Republic has been rallying in support of our President and the war effort since shortly after the terrorist attack on America on September 11, 2001. Last year, as the inevitable war against Iraq drew closer, more and more of the "useful idiots" of the left began crawling out of the woodwork, organizing so-called "anti-war" protests. FReepers are working to ensure that these communist organized (A.N.S.W.E.R.) demonstrations do not go unanswered. Patriotic Americans are countering these misguided terrorist supporting leftists wherever and whenever they show up. Form a group, grab your signs, unfurl the flag, and prepare to support your country!

.....I just wonder if these numbskulls understand that if it weren't for "communist" Russia Hitler would have controlled Europe.

......It's interesting how they have to use propaganda to keep ignorant people allied to their cause whereas the liberal progressives just use common sense and rightousness

1. the US has by and large become anti-common sense, illogical
and just plain ignorant (or maybe it's always been that way).

When confronted with the truth, most of these people will offer a knee jerk reaction and stick to the 'official' story, as though the Bush maladministration were a paragon of truth.

Here is a great example of logic, science and common sense:

5. It's not patriotism, it's Nationalism
which is very, very scary to this patriotic American!

Nationalism is the exclusive, my-country-right-or-wrong bullshit. The freeps demonstrate the worst strain of this psychosis.

26. FReeper rallies are fun to watch on C-Span
They are a riot! I make a snack, pull up a chair and enjoy myself. It is too ridiculous. I love when they bring out the Second Amendment Sisters, have women dress up as Monica, and they still have anti-Clinton posters!
I do not take them seriously, and i always have a good time watching.

6. I've been on two ANSWER national marches and seen the counterprotests.
I'm not scared.

Incidentally, it is not totally insane to refer to ANSWER as communist-influenced, although "organized" is overblowing it. There has been plenty of dissection of ANSWER's makeup, pedigree, leadership and genealogy in the papers lately, and certainly their own rhetoric is heavily Marxist-flavored. This is probably one of the reasons the marches haven't been yet even bigger than they were. An ANSWER rally is generally an exercise in patience and perspective; the cool thing is standing around in the crowd looking at all the people who came out.

The next rally is being co-organized by United for Peace and Justice, a more mainstream and NY-based organization that, from what I can tell, puts on a much better party. So hopefully it'll get more people. I'm goin', one way or another, and I guaran-damn-tee the presence will dwarf and crush any counterdemonstration FR can mount.

Why? Because if you weren't a lazy, entitled-feeling, world-owes-me-a-Porsche, why-should-I-experience-discomfort-just-to-help-others sonofabitch, why would you be part of Free Republic?

C ya,

The Plaid Adder

Its okay with me that they are. That doesn't mean that I'm a communist. We just have a similar objective. To overthrow fascism.

27. The less extreme groups
are better for me. I feel a little weird listening to hard core stalinists at rallies organized by Ramsey Clark (the war criminal's best friend).
These rallies are essentially preaching to the choir of the hard left. What are needed are mainstream groups that can influence the average people.

8. Just a question relating to this...
Since going to Dean Meetups and talking about his candidacy...I have encountered multiple people who have said they put away their American flags after 9/11 or after the invasion of Iraq.

Why do we give up symbols like this so easily?

At my house, we seriously considered putting an American flag and an anti-war sign both in our yard. Unfortunately, we didn't, but we didn't put anything away either or try to disavow connection with our country.

Regardless of Iraq and 9/11, I am still proud of a great deal of our history and our people...the right-wing insanity has not erased the presidency of Franklin Roosevelt or the legacy of Abraham Lincoln, etc.

Howard Dean's statements that he will work to take back the American flag as a symbol for the entire country is quite powerful to me...

16. But why did you give it up to them?
We're only truly Americans or truly people to be identified with the U.S. when Democrats are in office? Do those who oppose Tony Blair disavow being British? Do conservative Canadians disavow being Canadian because they have a liberal government?

Am I way off base here?

19. I didn't give up NOTHING.
By not displaying it, I didn't "give it up", I've "taken it from them".

In my mind, the Stars and Stripes have been co-opted by a gang of thugs who are using it as their banner of World Domination. In the World's eyes, the Stars and Stripes have come to stand for Death and Tyranny, and the American Imperial Empire, and I do-not stand for that.

The Gadsden Flag stands for Patriotism and the fight AGAINST Tyrrany, and that's what I stand with. I still own one, I didn't burn it. It's stored away against the day when it becomes again the flag of Hope and Freedom. I will display it again when, as I said, this bunch who have co-opted MY flag for THEIR evil purposes have been deposed.

Does Blair wrap himself in the Union Jack? Do ne-con Cannucks wrap themselves in the Maple Leaf? Does Bush wrap himself in the Stars and Stripes? Like a fucking Burrito he does.
There's the reason why.

28. Rather Than Not Fly the Flag
Fly it upside-down.

Some idiots think it's an insult to the flag (a la the upside-down cross), but it's a distress signal. For those who understand the meaning of the upside-down flag, I think it sends a powerful message.

Not really.
As long as they can only muster 10-15 people to counter our 5,000, does it really matter what they think of us?

I hope they haven't forgotten that they're not the only ones who own firearms.

15. They've Seen Through My Facade of Liberal Humanism
And cut to the core of my love for the totalitarian way of life! Its true - autocracy is just more fun. And it would be easier if we could just appoint a panel of people to decide who are President is.

But although I love a tyranny as much as the next pinko, there's just something so appealling about stateless terrorism. Is it the great clothes or the air of mystery? Who knows? Who cares!?!

Now if I could just find a way of putting Bill Clinton at the head of a fundamentalist regime in the White House - well, that would just make my whole weekend.

think is the Democratic agenda. They think the goal is to weasel a Clinton in the White House and then turn the US into a stalinist People's Republic. They really believe that.

17. I usually don't give a shit about FReeper posts...
...but this time I'm compelled to remind the FReeper in question that if WE don't have the right to protest unimpeded then neither should they. That's how free speech works. Yet...you're trying to shout these people down so they can't be heard.

- You would whine like a baby if these tactics werew used against your small group of anti-Constitution thugs and wannabe fascists. Where did you ever get the idea that you have more of a right to speak out than your opposition?

- The FReeper author refers to the rallies being sponsored by 'commies' and implies that this gives them less credibility. But seldom if ever do you mention that hundreds of thousands of 'non-commie' citizens around the world showed up to protest against the BUSH* ADMINISTRATION...not the flag or the Constitution or the military. They were marching against Bush* government policies. Perfectly legal, Constutional and all American.

- For decades we've heard your sillyass 'commie under every bed' argument as a rationale for your obsessive hatreds and bigotry. I can only assume this tactic is used in absense of any kind of rational argument. All you can do is attack the messenger and try to keep your fellow citizens distracted from the truth. But that won't be enough. GWB* is not only insane...he thinks war makes him a dictator and gives him a right to cancel the Bill of Rights or break any law. Bush* is the embodiment of the fascist state.

- No one can be free unless everyone is free. Same goes for 'Freedom of Speech'.

25. If it weren't for the Nazi-Soviet pact in 1939
Hitler never would have invaded Poland. The USSR also invaded Poland, 2 weeks later. In the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact of 1939, they divided up Eastern Europe, and Stalin agreed to send the Nazis trainloads of raw materials and oil. In fact, before June 22, 1941 The USSR was Hitler's main foreign supplier of raw materials.

The USSR helped Hitler, and then after Stalin was warned repeatedly by both the British and US that Hitler was preparing to invade, Stalin refused to believe it.
