Missing from 9/11 observances . . |
|
for over a year now I have noticed that in the observance of 9/11, those who speak, remember those thousands killed and those they left behind, but I rarely hear about those injured. I think of them everytime I hear the words "9/11".
Their lives after all were affected greatly by this - maimed bodies and life changing injuries. They have not had anything come easy for them and I hope they are getting the support and money needed to try to get on with their lives no matter how altered they may be.
It reminds of our injured soldiers - the misadministration and media seem to forget to mention these brave people.

the emotionally traumatised.
I often think of the fellow who was on the floor directly beneath impact who looked up to see the plane coming right at him. And he made it. Plenty of other stories like that.
The other forgotten ones I always think of are the Sanitation workers. Of course we have "The Bravest" the "Strongest" and the "Finest" but what about the ssanitation workers who cleaned and hauled and worked their asses off?
