CBS News coverage of Social Security was really funny!
They showed several clips of old folks and even some younger people giving Republican's like Rick Santorum an ear full. Santorum looked like he had bit off way more than he could chew. He was shaking his head and looking extremely frustrated. Then they cut to the really young kids and it looked like they could care less about the whole thing. Basically it looks like Bush's Social Security idea is going down in flames as no one seems to be buying it. It was extremely funny! Watching that sure picked up my day.

2. Great news!
At least one arm of the MSM is telling the truth on this issue.

5. But It Still Annoyed Me...
That they keep showing young people and saying "they don't believe they will get their Social Security" but never point out that their views are mistaken and out of touch with the reality of the system and have been created by years of right wing propaganda by those wanting to rape and destroy Social Security...

7. Republicans fail to mention...
That they have borrowed so much against the Social Security Trust Fund, that it is impossible for them to pay the Trust Fund back. In short, the Trustees (politicians) have broken a trust and contract with American people.

Why can't they rely on the surplus that they have had all these years?
Because they used they payroll tax as an indirect income tax and left a bunch of IOUs, instead of treating it like a Trust Fund.

Who in their right mind would say "okay" to a banker who put up their personal account as collateral and additional source of revenue for the banker's frivolous wants and kickbacks? How many people would allow that to happen?
