Be afraid....be very afraid.
Because fear is the only weapon Bush and the Republicans have to run on. This war on "terror" could go on for generations, they tell us. It could cost a lot of money. And at the rate they are going, they could be right. Any opportunity to catch the criminals that attacked the WTC has been lost in the shuffle. We have created more terrorists because of the arrogant and misguided foreign policy of this Administration. Nations that might have been ambivalent toward us before are now firmly entrenched against us. How could anyone be so incompetent?

If you were lost in the wilderness, would you want George W Bush to lead you out? No sane person could answer in the affirmative. Yet, millions of Americans blindly follow this shallow incompetent and believe him when he says we must fight this war for generations. Stop and think. For generations, we are to live in fear and paranoia for years to come. Your children are to live in this fear also. Do you think we might ought to get a second opinion? What does it say about a nation that would buy this BS from such a sick moron?

1. You're right on the money.
Fear and Paranoia run rampant with the wing-nuts.

Whenever I find myself defending my leftist slant, the thing I try to emphasize is, "You must be awfully afraid, or paranoid, or both to say something like that."

It really rocks wing-nuts back on their heels when you point out how driven by fear they are.

Remember long ago, when we had a Commander in Chief who said, "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself." This is the exact opposite of what we hear from our government these days.

Buncha f**kin' cowards is what they are.

2. Fear and...
Now why do I all of a sudden have a flash of Cardinal Fang from the Monty Python skin about the Inquisition?

Seems like you can only go on fear for so long but question is how long

3. I agree
I feel really sorry and bad for the people who lost their lives on September 11th. But the odd thing is noone is asking the hard questions. Why haven't any of the heads of the intelligence agencies resigned? When you drop the ball like they did on 9/11, you should resign. It really disgusts me. I don't want a perpetual war on terror. Get the guys that did it and let's move on.... Unless of course it is in the * administration's best interest to have this perpetual enemy so they can benefit politically...

4. I think Democrats need to address this issue of "fear"...
It is destroying our country. We must ask, "Does it have to be so?" I don't think so. There is got to be a better way than "war".

11. This is one of the things I most mourn for the US
It is such a criminal abdication of leadership.

Maybe some of you remember that just after 9/11 a chemical plant in Toulouse, France exploded, damaging hundreds of homes, killing about 30 people and injuring over 2,000. Within hours of the blast--before investigators had determined whether the explosion was accidental or an act of terrorism--President Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin were on the ground walking the perimeter of the site, reassuring the population. It was an emergency working visit.

It took the Chimp three days to find his way to New York; and when he got there the special jacket, baseball cap, and presidential bullhorn were already waiting. (But, of course, he was busy in the meantime lying to us about the White House and Air Force One having been targetted. Oh, and helping the bin Laden family organize their "lynch prevention" airlift.)

There's no mistaking such a total lack of leadership.

6. the "real" trifecta...

HATE, FEAR & IGNORANCE

FEAR the people you HATE because you've been kept IGNORANT about what's really going on.

7. Fear and lies
Lies and fear. That's what this administration is based on, and that's what it will run on. Both have to be exposed.

9. Fear is something * understands.
It so consumed him on 9/11 that the sniveling punk spent the day cowering aboard Air Force One. He almost certainly believes that the American public will be as incapacitated by fear as he was, and will then therefore be able to see through all of his bullshit.

10. This day will pass
My anxieties and frustrations are high today too.

Ever since that speech Sunday night ... something about that fucking speech ... 87 Billion ... just for a jump start THIS YEAR. I think the Iraq situation became worse than even they imagined it would.

Maybe they are stunned by their own lies. I don't know. I'm very upset about this. There is something in that speech ... another butt fuck that hasn't been fully revealed yet ... it will become clear ... soon.

:tinfoilhat:

Oh yes, we are fucked fiscally for many years to come. I disagree with you on one point though - I don't think the masses are blindly following him anymore. I think there has been a collective gasp over the last several weeks from those that previously supported him. They are more scared than I am. I can see it and smell it, even among my own Republican family. They are scared - they know he has to go.

This never was a war on terrorism. What this administration has done is guarantee several generations of terrorists. We knew that would happen - they wouldn't listen. It's guaranteed now.
