Anyone else notice no planes today?
I was outside several times today and saw no planes. Not one. No contrails of any kind. We are in Pittsburgh with a bright blue sky and no flights.

Is it just us or is it elsewhere? I am wondering if DHS sent out something on the sly and the airlines cut their schedules well in advance.

Later,
JM

1. I've seen 3 or 4 today in Madison, WI
That's about the usual number I see when standing outside on breaks.

2. Nothing's gonna happen
Next year on or around this date, hold on to your hat. A little more timely, don't you know. Too risky this year. Besides, might ruin the potential for next year.

4. I heard on NPR yesterday
that some flights were being cut today because people don't like to fly on 9/11 but that more people flew today than did during last year's anniversity.

5. My god. You took the words right out of my fingers.
I am in Pittsburgh as well (Southside), and have noticed the SAME EXACT THING. I always see planes, but not today. All today, actually. What the hell is going on?

8. Alright, just got back from a wide open area -
I saw one plane heading ENE, and that's it. Was looking for 10-15 minutes. I would normally see 5-10 planes (I'm a plane watcher). Could be light traffic because no one want's to fly on a day such as today.

10. Very light traffic in Indianapolis
from what I see. Have only noticed a couple of planes but haven't been outside much, and I really don't pay attention unless they're flying low.

11. It's just you
I'm just south of Pittsburgh and saw quite a few in the flight path that crosses Bridgeville. Also got buzzed by a little yellow plane.

Business as usual:-)
