You know, it really doesn't matter one bit WHO runs in '06 or '08 |
|
UNTIL we have a transparent and fair registration/election system.
We already know that liberals will not get a "fair shake" in media, so that's .....Strike ONE
We already know that the rightwingers play WAAAAAY dirtier than ANY liberal on the planet....Strike TWO
And then there's the pesky "vapor voting machines" that come "pre-loaded" just enough votes to make sure that the race is "close", but the rightwinger still wins....Strike THREE
The crew that we have squatting in DC will fight tooth and nail to keep things just the way they are, and we lack the numbers to thwart them..and we seem to lack the spinal fortitude in the Dems we DO have..
the set up we have now is dangerous too, because no matter WHO wins, HALF the people will disbelieve the result.
There will probably never be any consensus again.
Every elected official begins his/her tenure as a "lame duck who probably didn't even really win".
It really scares me:(

1. We have to continue working on local solutions to election fraud. It's |
|
way to early to hoist the white flag.

2. Not exactly hoisting the white flag.. |
|
Just commenting on how "excited" some people are about who we will run next time, and how futile it could be if we do not take first things first..:)
Setting off on an ocean voyage in a brand new ship, with a huge hole in the hull, is not going to end well :)

6. "First things first". You're right, we need to repair the ship before |
|
the voyage ahead. If our ship should sink the next time, it'll be for keeps. :scared:

People get all exorcised about this candidate and that candidate, as if Nov 04 and Nov 02, and Nov 00 never happened.
We cannot keep saying "next time"..
We have been "gamed" and it will not stop until we MAKE it stop.
Exit polls and skewed polls in general can no longer be trusted, so the fancy machines can "elect" anyone who pays enough money to the owners of said machines. We can "know" it, but without a way to PROVE it in a HURRY we cannot get around that obstacle.

5. I couldn't agree more. |

All this talk about who can win in'06 and '08 is missing the likely essential point of how do we repair (what is most likely) a corrupted voting or vote-counting process when the dems got no meaningful say in making laws or enforcing existing ones.
Voting fraud never grew legs w/ mainstream media during the election, and the issue has much less traction now than it did then.
Conclusion: we're fucked until they bring themselves down.
