Majority Thinks US is Winning the War on Terrorism
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 04:34 PM by Sweetpea
Whoever did the polling must not have done it in NY, where 9/11 happened. The subways are still open targets. There are no patrols down there and there are plans to get rid of 45 toll booth operators(not like they make you feel safer). The fire departments are still not prepared for chemical attacks. I was just on the bus. I wouldn't need to be a suicide bomber. All I would need to do is leave a package on the bus. There is still no screening of luggage on Amtrack and ID is not checked on board. Then there is still the potential car bomb.........Homeland Security?

1. There must not be much of a war to fight, since the REST of the planet
does just fine without any of these precautions, and far less even at airports.

Is there REALLY such a threat?

I don't think so. It's all just fear mongering designed to keep people stupid.

3. But these are the things I say to right wingers who say that liberals
are pro terrorists....I say, would you feel safer with a city that experienced the attack with no change in security.

4. East Asia's always been our ally; we're closing in on Emmanuel Goldstein
The struggle will continue forever. Unfortunately, we will have to recind some more of the freedoms of which our enemies are so jealous, but this will only be for the duration.

Special on Victory Gin, aisle four.

5. How do you win the war?
Does one day someone come on TV and say, the war on terrorism is over, we won?

And the next day someone blows themselves and others up...does the war on terrorism start up again?

How fucking stunningly absurd!

7. THE ASSHOLE CHIMPANZEE'S HANDLERS WILL HAVE A FOREVER WAR
My 85 year old aunt won't come out of her house.

She is that afraid.

She thinks that scumbag Rumbdumb is a nice man.

She has trust in "THE GOVERNMENT" (whoever that is) to protect her.

There are millions like her being exploited by

1. An AWOL CHIMPANZEE, CHENEY THE CARDIAC KID, WOLFIE THE VIET-NAM DRAFT DODGER AND RUMDUMB EX FRIEND OF SADAM.

6. Bullets & bombs will never "kill" an ideology
It's like declaring victory when you kill that lone ant in your bathroom.. Did you really vanquish the ant kingdom??

Until we are grown up enough to address the root cause, we will never eliminate terrorism..

When we undermine "other people" , they get pissed off.. If they are strong, they fight back, and sometimes win.. When they are militarily, they fight back with anything they can.. If you have nothing more to lose, you are more likely to take desperate action..

We are the bully of the world and we insist that people do what we say.. They just finally got tired of us telling them what to do..

8. That's the nice thing (for politicians) about
the war on drugs, the war on terror: there is no objective measure of how's it going. It's all perception. Politicians are terrified of the objective.
