Even with all of the dumb things America does, we still once upon a time had this much sympathy. Imagine what a capable leader could have made out of this tragedy. It's really quite overpoweringly shocking if you consider how big a failure George W. Bush really is. Although it's surely lost on the freepers, you almost have to weep at how degraded we have become.

I've been thinking all day that today is indeed a day of mourning for the 9/11 victims and for the loss of a once great nation under the grips of a horrible regime who have corrupted its beautiful ideals and dismantled its good will.
