3. Dammit
Every google search I do says it is in 'Rebuilding America's Defenses'...but a thorough search of that document yields nothing. It isn't in there. Either everyone is wrong, or they scrubbed it.

2. Here's a good link to that paper as well as others
Go to: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article2319.htm#REBUILDING

about half way down click on project report -- then have adobe acrobat find 'pearl harbor'; for that matter tell it to find 'genotype' and you can read how the people who run your government think that technology will being us politically viable weapons that target specific genotypes. These guys would make the Nazis jealous.

6. Not sure if this is what you're looking for
A copy of the Project for the New American Century's September 2000 report titled "Rebuilding America's Defenses; Strategy, Forces and Resources For a New Century" can be viewed at http://www.newamericancentury.org/RebuildingAmericasDefenses.pdf

I think the Pearl Harbor quote is on page 50.

I just went to open it to check the page number and got this message (with a yellow triangle warning sign):

------------------------

Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open or save this file.

File name: RebuildingAmericasDefenses.pdf

File type: Acrobat Control for ActiveX

From: www.NewAmericanCentury.org

This type of file could harm your computer if it contains malicious code.

Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?

------------------------

I've opened this report dozens of times in the past couple of months and NEVER got a message like this.

I sure as hell don't trust the source.

Luckily, I printed the report and have hard copies.

7. It's there
Will, all the PNAC links are here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=110&topic_id=80&mesg_id=80

For the Pearl Harbor reference, go to this page:

http://www.newamericancentury.org/publicationsreports.htm

click on Rebuilding America's Defenses (PDF), it's a little slow to download but not too bad.

Hit Control+F (for Find), type in pearl, it will take you right to the page (page 51 of the Report, page 63 of the PDF). It's still there. They are shameless.

10. Okay, it's not letting me save in this version
I could do it at work, but I have the free version of Acrobat at home. I don't know why you're having a problem. It opens for me just fine. If you can wait until Sunday I can email it. Or I'm sure someone else here has a better version of Acrobat and can save it and email it. I am looking at it in another window right now. Copy and paste. Page 51.

policy goals and would trouble American
allies.

Further, the process of transformation,
even if it brings revolutionary change, is
likely to be a long one, absent some
catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a
new Pearl Harbor. Domestic politics and
industrial policy will shape the pace and
content of transformation as much as the
requirements of current missions. A
decision to suspend or terminate aircraft
carrier production, as recommended by this
report and as justified by the clear direction
of military technology, will cause great
upheaval. Likewise, systems entering
production today – the F-22 fighter, for
example – will be in service inventories for
decades to come. Wise management of this
process will consist in large measure of
figuring out the right moments to halt
production of current-paradigm weapons
and shift to radically new designs. The
expense associated with some programs can
make them roadblocks to the larger process
of transformation – the Joint Strike Fighter
program, at a total of approximately $200
billion, seems an unwise investment. Thus,
this report advocates a two-stage process of
change – transition and transformation –
over the coming decades.
“international commons” be a key to
world power in the future. An
America incapable of protecting its
interests or that of its allies in space
or the “infosphere” will find it
difficult to exert global political
leadership.
